Can someone please tell me how I can redirect a user from a channel default page to an external site. Usually I'd use the META-EQUIV tag but as I understand it that tag is part of the shared template. I'm using cms2001. (is the answer to simply create a new template?) thanks
  • 2. CMS User Console Customization Tutorials?
I'm new to CMS 2002, and I am looking for some good tutorials on customizing the default CMS Web Author console (e.g. adding/removing/renaming functionality). Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look? I already have purchased the MCMS 2002 Complete Guide, but am having a hard time understanding PAPI. Thanks.

Creating new templates with Visual Studio .Net

Postby Mueller » Sun, 22 Aug 2004 00:30:13 GMT

We are trying to create a new template and based on the
MCMS 2002 Help file it states:

To create a new MCMS project

1. In Visual Studio .NET, on the File menu, click New,
and then click Project.
2. In the New Project dialog box, in the Project Types
list, expand Content Management Server Projects.

When we open up Visual Studio .Net on our client we don't
see Content Management Server Projects.

Does Visual Studio .Net also need to be installed on the
server to make the CMS Projects available?

You need MCMS on the box with VS.NET.

So you can either install VS.nET on the Server, or install MCMS on your
development workstation.

To be more clear:
it is not possible to work with VS.NET and CMS developer tools against a
remote MCMS server.

Cheers,
Stefan
