Hello all, I am trying to fade out an FLV file that is playing with a button object? Does anyone know if this is possible? I need to fade out the audio/video...and go to another frame... Appreciate any help you can give.. thanks, john

I'm triing to understand the basics of actionscripts but why is it made in chinese. I've got myself the mx 2004 pro version of flash.So i learned to make animations, movieclips, tweening sh..t, buttons ect.... but my farmer brain doesn't get how to link a button to my e-mail adress. tried 'get url mailto: my adress' but syntax is still wrong.... can ya help this stupid belgian with his problem? - 2. newbie-can any1 help?shrinking and growing button
Hi folks, I'm a newbie... and have a problem. Basically I know what I want to happen, but I need some genius to convert my lay-terms into action script (mx 2004) or whatever works. Ok, I have a button that I want to smoothly grow when I rollover it. When I rollout of it, it then needs to shrink back to it's original size. But.... This is the tricky bit! -How do I make it so that if I rollout half way whilst its getting larger, it begins to shrink from that point on and doesn't jump/jitter? I need to set a limit to the size that it grows to e.g to a maximum 120x120px. Any help would be much appreciated. TIA Hass - 3. switching between combo box values

i am using flashMX. can someone detail for me how to print flashMX content as i am having real trouble with it. i have looked at the mac'media notes and still am having difficulty. i would like to have the facility to print a page of text that the user is viewing (not necessarily the pics as they will be thumbnails)

Put it inside of a container movie clip. Then, fade that movie clip.

2.Trouble with fade-outs and sliders
Hi everyone, I'm still pretty new to Flash, I love it, and I'm getting some great results, but I feel I need to get to grips with action script pretty damn quick. Any recomendations on the best books to learn it from? A classic example of my current problems is a navigation panel I've designed with a nice fade in and fade out on mouse over and mouse out - plus a slider that moves from left to right and back again on mouse over. The problem is that the fade out (which is built into the over frame - the only logical place I can think to put it) occurs as soon as the page loads. Presumably because this event is interpreted as mouse out. The same thing happens when using the navigation. As soon as the mouse button is released, there's an unpleasant flicker as the fade out occurs and the slider does its thing. I know the secret to solving this problem lies in action script, and I've toyed around with it endlessly. But I'm kind of shooting in the dark. I've also had a poke around the tutorials, but found little in the way of specific help. I need a good solid book on leaning Action Script from the bottom up. If anyone has any recommendations on the book, or suggestions on the fade-out problem, I'd be extremely grateful. Joolz
3.images fading in and on fading out another image appears fading in
Hi Can anybody give me an idea on how to fade an image into flash let it be there for a few seconds and then fade it out and upon fading out a new image appears in the background which again fades in until it's at full tone stays there for a few seconds and then fades out...etc.... I'm trying to get that effect with a sequence of images that are kind of like an automatic slideshow but instead of the whole picture showing straight away it fades in and out.
