Flash 9.0.16 problem

  • 1. Security for local only activities
Hi all, I have a problem with a movie player written in flash. I have differen flash programms and movie files. The flashs communicate over Local connections and with JavaScript over set/getVariable. Now I have the problem that the security mechanism of flash denies this if the pages are not viewed over a Webserver. After reading some documentation I found out that this is in general fine, but I don't send files from the local machine to the "internet" ! The error message I get is (short and translated from german) The following app of your computer or network: ...\start.html tries to communicate with this online thing: ...\LiveConnectEventSender.swf Someone knows what triggers flash to think this is target, outside of the local machine ? Just about the workarounds: The problem is that I cannot explain the user how to make this setting, the usability of the security manager is a nightmare. It must work when the user is offline and I cannot be sure that Tools from flashplayer are installed to execute the trust app over an signed applet. So atm. it looks like only have the choice to fix this or use an embedded webserver... Thanks a lot for you help ! Felix
  • 2. Importing sound to Flash
I am new to Flash, and as I follow the instructions to import sound to Flash, it calls for a mp3 file. For whatever reason, all my music is in a version called m4a (whatever that is?!?). This conversion happened I guess with my last upgrade with iTunes. I cannot seem to be able to import those files. Is there a way to either convert these m4a files into mp3 files or import the m4a files into Flash? I use a Mac. Thanks.

I have the exact same problem. Flash works fine on whichever account I use to install the player, but not on any others. All accounts are set up as administrator accounts.

Anyone have ideas?

I have downloaded 9.0.16, I can't even get it to work period. I show it
downloaded and installed. When I go to sites like espn.com it asked me to
install flash to view highlights, when it redirects me to the adobe page it
says I have 9.0.16 already installed. So I uninstall it and reinstall it and go
back to espn.com and it asks me to download flash to view. I get it on many
websites for me to install flash even though it shows it installed.

I'm having the same problem! For some unknown reason, the Flash Player works
on some content but not on sites like YouTube. I've done all the
troubleshooting listed on the Adobe site but I haven't been able to figure
anything out! I'm running XP Home SP2, with 3 User Accounts all of which are
Computer Admin accounts. Flash works perfectly on one account and is bugged on
the other two -- no matter what fixes I try. I think it is about time for
Adobe to address this issue. I'm about to write them a nice, old-fashion paper
letter by registered mailed and maybe ask why they are so reluctant to fix
what's broken!:disgust;

I've found the remedy:

it's in www.donglefree.com

& select flash repair.

So it was apparently a rights problem.

I got the same problem some programs are ok but you tube refuses to play, could
it be a problem with you tube despite the message that my flash player is not
working? Again the dongletree fix did nothing!

1.EMIF(parallel 16) boot from flash on5502 giving problems

I have a custom 5502 board. I have been able to write code to it's
SDRAM and execute form there. My problems (unexpectedly) are coming
from flash.

i can access it's flash when i burn my code in it and using flashburn i
also compared the flash contents of my board versus the EVM5502 board
and i found that they were the same.

My GPIOs are always(before reset adn after reset i have hardwired them)
in the following configuration
GPIO[2..0]= 011
GPIO4,6,7 are all high

So i am booting EMIF(parallel 16) from external clock and i am also
going to use serial port 2 as Mcbsp only.

The thing is even when i configure for BOOT mode from external 16 bit
parallel EMIF i don't see my code running and the DSP does not draw any
power like it does whne the same code i run in the internal memory from

I wonder and i have no clue as to why a standalone program does not
work even when the flash i can read and write to without any errors
with flashburn.

Is there anythign special that one has to be take care of when bringing
up a board form external flash?? (I have the hold pin and teh rdy pin
pulled high)
Could the RESET for flash(that i have linked with the reste of the DSP,
so that both DSP and FLASH come out of reset at the same time) be
creating a problem does it have to be delayed or has to be faster than
the DSP reset??

Another interesting thing about this problem. Once i have burnt code
into the flash and i power cycle the board and try connecting with CCS
I CAN NO LONGER connect to it. I get a error like Error Initialization
OCS. RSET EMULATOR and all that.

This error i understand comes when the XDS cannot reset the target

To recover my board i have to change my jumper config
GPIO[2...0] to 000 and the only can i connect and then i have to erase
the flash and then only can i see my board doing everything else that
it can do.

Can someone suggest something? If there might be some things i must
check to make sure the things are as what XDS expects when it is
connected to a board on whcih the flash is running.....

Thanks for reading.

Does someone has any ideas on how this problem can be solved???

2.Problem on accessing 16-bit device when running in Flash

I am using Arm7 processor (TMS320) for my embedded development.
I need to interface it with a 16-bit memory-mapped device.
I have configured the CS-register and every wait-state. It can run
with the
JTAG mode.
(I can read the memory contents). However, when I try to run it in
flash, (program running in SDRAM) the system is not working
fine....the processor is still
running, but when I probe the memory-mapped location, the data is

Anyone had some clue on this???

Thanks in advance!

3.Flash Memory Card Reader - 16 GB SD Card - Won't Read

I have a Ativa brand (Office Depot store brand) SD/SDHC card reader. On my
home computer, which is a HP dv9925nr 4GB RAM running Windows Vista Home
Premium 64-bit, my card reader causes my machine to run very slowly when I
insert a Patriot memory 16 GB SDHC card in it. It runs up to 8 GB cards OK.
The computer does eventually recognize it but it runs too slowly for me to
open files. Fortunately I can use the built in SDHC card reader on the
computer but its the point.

Now, at work, I use a Dell notebook computer that runs XP Professional.
That one accepts the card reader / 16 GB SDHC card just fine. So it isn't
the card reader or any capacity limitations or anything. I'm thinking its
some kind of driver missing or other conflict with Vista 64-bit.

Incidentally, a slightly older but very similar type card reader from Ativa
does run this 16GB card OK. Also, I bought a 2nd one - same kind - and it
also has the same problem. So its not isolated. Ideas?
