  • 1. Include Page - How does it work? (FP2003)
Up until today I had assumed that when I used an included page that the included page was stored on the server and that the FP server extensions inserted the page when it was downloaded. Today I made an update to my included page and published just changed pages to a remote host. I then checked the remote site in IE and discovered that the updates were not updated in the pages where my included page was used. I then opened the remote site in FP and found that when I looked at one of these pages and found it was not changed. I then found I could edit the included portion of the page directly on the remote site without having to open the include page in a separate window. All of this causes me to conclude that pages are compiled when uploaded and that FP has no automatic way of making sure all of the pages that include an included paged get republished. Is this correct? Do I handle this by always publishing all pages?
  • 2. same issue in FP 2003
What did you do to correct the issue? I am experiencing the same problem of not being able to edit certain areas of a web page now that I've upgraded to FP 2003. I wasn't experiencing this issue when I was using FP XP. Thanks, Jason

Passwords used by FP are "stored" using IE
In IE use Tools > Internet Options > Security
Click on 'Trusted' and on 'Custom Level'
Make sure the selection at the bottom is set to:
'Automatic logon with current username and password' and click OK
Click on 'Sites' and add your site URL in the 'Add this Web Site to the Zone', and OK, OK
- note: you may have to unselect the option: Require server verification (https)... to add your site

5.Save Results Form to Email prompts for User Name and Password

My form feedback to email (save results) does not work some visitors.
Instead, it prompts the visitor to enter a user name and password? The weird
thing is that it works for some computers. I have Frontpage 2003 and the
server is Go Daddy. Go Daddy has not been very helpful.
