  • 1. In FP2002, ISP Server Publishing Problem
What might cause an ISP's server to stop publication and report that it could not rename a .jpg file? I understand what the message says, but what might it actually mean? I was simply publishing a new page, containing 4 .jpg images. After publishing 3 of the 4 images, (according to the progress bar & text) the server discontinued publishing and reported it could not rename one of the 4 .jpg files. All of those files had relatively short, lower-case file names, like "ccstartpg1.jpg" for example. In the first place, why would it rename the files? And what might prevent the server from being able to do so? I tried publishing several times, but always got the same result. I even tried once with no firewall or virus protection active. I shall greatly appreciate your help on this. -- With kindest regards, Dick Smith
  • 2. Remove Cell Borders
Problem: FrontPage allows you to collase table borders (reduce width of borders between cells), but doesn't allow you to eliminate them. Solution: add the following code after the <td> command in cells where you don't want borders: bordercolor="#X" bordercolorlight="#X" bordercolordark="#X", where X is the hex color code. I can't understand why FrontPage doesn't allow you to do this from the menus/dialogs, but the workaround works. Thanks, Dreamweaver, for that one...

  • 4. FP 2002 table default setting driving me insane
posted other ng, then found out about better traffic here, so please excuse the cross post, but go no response prev. OK, this has GOT to be something small, but its driving me mad! I consider myeslf pretty much close to expert level on Front Page 2002, but there is one thing that I cannot find for the life of me. When ever I create a new table, it has somehow set itself to default with a style of border-collapse. I can take it out manually, and most times its not an issue because most of my tables are borderless anyway, but on the occasion where I want just a standard table, with standard cell padding and spacing, and standard borders, I cannot for the life of me find where to set this so that my tables do not default to border-collapse , Any ideas here? Passwords used by FP are "stored" using IE
In IE use Tools > Internet Options > Security
Click on 'Trusted' and on 'Custom Level'
Make sure the selection at the bottom is set to:
'Automatic logon with current username and password' and click OK
Click on 'Sites' and add your site URL in the 'Add this Web Site to the Zone', and OK, OK
- note: you may have to unselect the option: Require server verification (https)... to add your site

My form feedback to email (save results) does not work some visitors.
Instead, it prompts the visitor to enter a user name and password? The weird
thing is that it works for some computers. I have Frontpage 2003 and the
server is Go Daddy. Go Daddy has not been very helpful.
