Hello, I am currently working on installing a plasma screen TV and flat screen TV connected to a PC via DVI. The plasma screen TV is a Phillips 42" and the flat screen TV is a Phillips 23". The computer has a Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT (dual DVI). According to Philips documentation, both TVs are capable of supporting a resolution of 800x600 at 60 hertz. I currently have the Nvidia 7600 GT setup in a clone setting for both TVs set to a resolution of 800x600 at 60 hertz. The 42" plasma screen TV has a wonderful picture. However, the 23" flat screen TV does not look right. The image is stretched off the screen. I have checked all the settings on the TV, but have not found anything to fix it. Neither have I found a setting in the Nvidia control panel which will solve the problem. Any advice??? Thanks.
  • 3. Pinkish tint to Philips monitor
I have a Philips 109P4. The monitor sometimes spontaneously decides to display in a pink tint. Can sometimes happen switching screen modes. Strangely, the most successful way of dealing with this has been to unscrew the rear plastic casing and let it sit "loose". With some adjustment anyway as I can create the tint at will by doing this moving the loose half of the case around. So, that's how I leave it, unscrewed and with a gap between the plastic exteriors. Any idea what the problem is? I'm sure I read somewhere that this is a common problem with Philip monitors. I've had the same problem with another Philips monitor (Brilliance 105). Also with an IBM E54.

I have a Viewsonic 2025WM LCD monitor that works extremely well but has an annoying problem. If I reboot Windows the display flashes at 1second intervals, it alternates between a blank screen and the DOS boot up messages, it then stays completely back as Windows loads. The power Led on the on/off button then flashes. If I unplug the monitor from the mains wait a few seconds then plug it back in I have a display again. Anyone come across this before? I have the resolution set to the recommended 1680x1050 60Hz 32bit colour and a ATI Radeon 9600 AGP video card. tnx John

Nvidia Ti4200 dual monitors?

Hey all --

I have a Nvidia Geforce4 Ti4200 that's a couple years old -- it has one
analog and one DVI connector on the back. I'd like to run two
monitors, and I'm trying to figure out if I need to only get an
additional monitor, or if I need a new vid card... so, if I get a DVI
monitor, can I hook it up to the currently unused DVI connector and
stretch my desktop across two monitors?

Thanks!

Maynard

Yes, in fact you can get a DVI to HD15 adapter and run 2 analog
monitors. I did it for a year with a Nvidia Geforce4 Ti4200 card and
now with a 5900.

1.NVidia Geforce Dual Monitor + TV Out

Hello All,
I've got a Geforce FX card that's working just dandy with dual monitors
(DVI + Analog). However, I'd really like to run TV output from time to
time for games and such and I can do this if I go and change the
dualview options but this is not ideal for me. I'd really like to have
the TV out mirror my second analog display which runs at 1024x768 so it
shouldn't be a problem, is there a way to do this? Maybe with some sort
of third party utility? Alternatively, is there a quick and easy way to
setup profiles which would allow me to switch back and forth between the
various setups? I'm out of PCI slots so I'd like to avoid buying another
video card if possible but if that's what it takes...

Thanks
Mike

4.KOTOR2, dual core and NVidia

I just bought a new PC - pretty nice - dual core, dual video cards,
the whole shooting match. When I tried to run KOTOR2 I ran into the
dreaded dual-core/NVidia slow down problem. Has anyone else run into
this? I found some suggestions on the net and tried the registry hack
to force the machine to use just one core while running KOTOR2 but it
didn't work.

Any suggestions out there?

5.Nvidia/ATI Drivers and Dual-Core CPUs Under Windows XP Home

There is quite a bit of confusion about "dual-core supporting" drivers now
being released by nvidia and ati.

Anandtech runs most all their tests under Windows XP Pro SP2 now, so this
does not help resolve the question for the average home user running XP
Home, as to whether these drivers will use both cpu cores under Home.

Anyone have more info? It does appear that MS has now announced dual-core
support for Home, but I'm still wondering.
