  • 2. ISA "failed connection attempt" question
In February 2005 our company upgraded to ISA2004, and since then we lost access to a java chat room that we used to network with other travel agencies around the country. I was just spending some time looking at the logging tab of ISA2004 Monitoring, and it appears that when I attempt to go into the java chat room, the action logged is "failed connection attempt." The "Rule" column is blank. I don't know what that means or signifies. The "Client Username" column shows the user as "anonymous." Could this be what's causing us not to be able to access the java chat room? If so, how do I change this so that my user name is being used and not "anonymous?" Could it be that I have to create a new rule to allow access to the specific IP address that was logged? The log didn't show anything in the "Protocol" column either. I DO have an All/All/All rule running right now, but apparently in ISA2004, it isn't enough to allow the java chat session to work. • 3. ISA 2004 and ActiveSync
Good morning! I posted this on 12/2 but I cannot see it in the newsgroup so I'm reposting.... I'm running ISA 2004 and have a PPC that syncs with a workstation within the same network. The PPC cannot sync over the network to the workstation. I just installed the ISA box and before that, it syncd fine. I think its ISA blocking the traffic because I had similar issues with one workstation viewing web pages on another workstation. I had to create an allow access rule that was from internal and to internal for HTTP to be able to view another workstations web page. I think similiar is happening with active sync, but I don't know what ports to allow. I created a protocol called ActiveSync and added the following TCP Outbound Ports: 26675, 5678-5679, 5721, 990-999, and no luck. Any ideas?? • 4. Errors accessing secure websites
I'm running into a problem accessing a secure website through our ISA 2004 server. I have a rule that allows all HTTP & HTTPS access to my particular group but receive the following in the real time ISA logs. 12210 An Internet Server API (ISAPI) filter has finished handling the request. Contact your system administrator. I've researched this error with no success. All traffic is allowed from my ISA server to my hardware firewall and I can access this https site from the ISA server itself (without the proxy server setting unchecked in I.E.). Please help.

Help!! Multiple login prompts with OWA using IE

Postby Techhead » Sat, 16 Sep 2006 02:24:16 GMT

I am trying to login to an external OWA server. I access the Internet
through proxy using ISA 2004 SP1. Through IE, I get prompted to login
to the OWA server and I repeadtly keep getting prompted to login but
never see the Inbox. If I use firefox going through the same ISA box, I
get prompted once and I am right in. I have caching disabled to this
site. I've even turned off using integrated authentication in IE. Any
ideas on why this is happening?

-Brian

- Have you tried accessing it from another computer with IE? (Perhaps it
could be something on the browser config)

- Can you get in to the external company's OWA using IE from outside your
organization or your home? If you still face the problem, then its not at
your end.

Check and post back!

Yes, it happens to any pc with IE running through ISA

If I bypass the ISA proxy, it works fine. But, if I use FireFox through
ISA it also works fine. It appears to be only IE through ISA 2004.
