  • 2. URL length
I have an interesting situation. I am supporting an app that opens a page via a very long URL (1723 characters). In IE 6, it takes 3 minutes or more to open, in Netscape it opens within five seconds. Interestingly, if I reduce the length of the URL to 1338 characters, IE open the page in five seconds, but if I increase the length of the URL by one character (1339), it foes back to taking three minutes to open. Has anyone else witnessed this behaviour? Does anyone have any suggestions (Other than re-writing the app to not use such a long URL). Thanks! John W.
  • 3. Can't Print from IE6
I'm running IE6 sp2. When I hit print in IE6....nothing happens, when I do print preview...nothing, file/print....nothing. The job never shows in the local queue and I don't get any errors. I can print fine from other programs. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance Dave
  • 4. Cannot insert picture OE6 hangs
I have a DELL 5150 Dimension with pre installed windows XP home. OE version 6.00.2900.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) Also has MacAfee security center pre installed. Problem occurs when I create a new email and try to insert a picture. I hit INSERT then PICTURE, and all is okay at the next window till I hit BROWSE, at which point OE hangs with a 'not responding' error. It is set to compose in HTML I have created a new identity with fresh folders, but this makes no difference. I have also 'disabled' MacAfee although it still seems to scan emails when you opn the in box. Has never worked on this machine which is a only a week old, but the function worked fine on my previous machine with XP PRO and OE6 Help!?
  • 5. IE maximum attachment size
I am running Windows ME with IE 6.00.2800 I recently changed from Peoplepc to Verizon dialup. I had NO probs at PPC. Now, with Verizon, I get an error message saying that IE has deleted an Unsafe attachment from my mail. After sending myself several different sized attachments, I found I can only receive and read attachments that are less than 256 K. Anything larger and I get the error message. Thank you John Murray

When I attempt to access a secure sites, extra numbers and letters are included in the url address and I get a cannot display message. There must be some registry entries that I need to delete but I don't know what they are. I am running up-to-date anti-virus software but it's not catching anything.
