  • 1. PAC file/Auto Script Config
Had to visit a customer and they required that I point to the PAC file server for there settings to get out of their net. I need to revert back to my Intenet Options settings and it won't allow me to. Most the fields are greyed out and has all of their corporate settings loaded. How can I remove the PAC file setting that was loaded into my browser settings? It disable all the ActiveX controls, etc.... Monte

  • 3. Certificate Problems
I have a client with a roaming profile who has problems with certificates. Wherever he logs on he always has to approve certificates even after he installs them. Is this fairly simple to fix. I'd rather not blow away his entire profile as there are some settings that would be difficult to get back. -- John Harris (Harry) Computer Troubleshooters - Hornby Christchurch New Zealand
  • 4. blocking port 80 by ISP's
We provide online reports to our customers. When XP came out we switched from Microsoft VM to Active X. It fixed the viewing problem in all but a couple of cases. We are told by one that their ISP blocks port 80 at all times. We suspect that's the case in another. Can anyone verify that the action by the ISP could be causing our customers not to be able to view our reports? i.e., blocking Active X controls. Thanks for any help anyone can give.
  • 5. Distored pic,s with IE
I am at a loss here on what else to do! All my pictures when using IE are distored with funny colors and squares all over the pic! I have tried just about everything I can think of doing.. First: I checked to see that my Smart Imaging Dithering was check in tools and that my settings were right in display.. Second: I reloaded my drivers for my video card.. Third I Uninstalled IE and installed it again.. Nothing is working! I have to believe it's the IE 6.0 that's not working right because, The funny thing is that when I use Netscape all the pictures are great! I am using windows 98 as well... PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!

I cannot currently access any secure sites via my home
desk top pc using I/E 6, the 'page cannot be displayed...

When I attempt to access a secure sites, extra numbers and letters are included in the url address and I get a cannot display message. There must be some registry entries that I need to delete but I don't know what they are. I am running up-to-date anti-virus software but it's not catching anything.
