  • 2. Multiple JRE versions in different browser session
We have two web application that runs in the IE 6 SP1 browser. All of our end users run Windows XP Pro SP2. App 1 can only run on Java Run Time 1.4X and App 2 requires a minimum of version 1.5.0.6. When version 1.5.0.6 is installed on the on system, App1 does not work properly. App2 require at least this version to work so I have a huge problem. I research the issue and there seem to be a way to create separate instances of IE 6 and associate the web app to a specific Java Run Time version. However, it does not give you steps on what needs to be done to configure it. If anyone how who to create separate shortcut of these web application in IE 6 and associate with its reuired version of Java, I would be most graceful.

  • 4. Passing existing session cookie to new instance of Internet Explor
Hi everyone, I'm currently developing a desktop application (in C#, if that at all matters) which gets XML documents via HTTP. This desktop application logs in via HTTP POST and retrieves various XML documents generated on the web server. This is all done using (for the most part) the .NET WebRequest class. Now, all is well and good as long as I manually retrieve and display these XML documents our own application. However, certain screens in the web application (outside of my control) would be very difficult to regenerate outside of a browser (specifically Internet Explorer). So here's the question: Given that our application has retrieved a cookie containing session information, can we take that cookie and somehow pass it to a new instance of Internet Explorer? We'd prefer to do this using an actual instance of Internet Explorer as opposed to a WebBrowser ActiveX control. Any idea if this is even possible? Derek Simon Incandesoft LLC

Favorites sub-folder keeps disappearing

Postby Noangel » Fri, 18 Nov 2005 08:23:49 GMT

Hi All,

Some time ago, I created a sub-folder in my favorites list called
"shopping". Beginning about 6 months ago, every once in a while (often),
that particular folder disappears. EVERY other folder and link remains
intact. I've exported the list so that I can import it and restore the
"shopping" folder, but there's a major flaw with that. Unless I export the
list every time that I make an addition or deletion anywhere in the list
(sub-folders or direct links), the import of the backup will only restore
what was in place at the time of the export. I'm sure I could export only
the "shopping" folder, but again, I'd have to do with each edit.

Why is this folder disappearing and how do I make it STOP?!

PS
Checked Advanced tab in Internet Options and "Enable personalized Favorites
menu" is NOT checked.

Thanks in advance. This has be driving out of my mind!

Nancy

Hi Nancy,
I can't think of a reason why this should be happening. 'Shopping' may be
recognised by some anit-spy programs on your puter and they may be removing
the folder.
Have you tried renaming the folder to something else that does not include
the word shopping?

I don't know. Maybe your husband has been deleting it behind your back to
curb your spending!!

No, I haven't tried that, but I will. Thanks for the pointer.

There is one strange problem to my user’s pc (XP sp3) with outlook 2003. I add a folder to the Favorites folder and after closing and restarting Outlook every added folder to Favorites has disappeared. I have already tried the /resetnavpane but the problem still exists.

4.Outlook favorite folders keep disappearing!

Hi,

As per subject line - my Outlook Favorite folders keep disappearing!

5.Favorites mail folders keep disappearing

I have an intermittent problem with the Favorites folder
in Mail. I'll add several folders that I want to keep an
eye on. Frequently, of late, when I reboot or quit OL
and then restart most of the folders I've added are
gone. Once everything disappeared, but most often it
seems that the last 2 or 3 that I've added are still
there but everything else has disappeared.

Anyone know what gives here?

Ken
