  • 1. Stopping IE sending URL attachments
Is there a way to prevent IE from trying to send those darn URL attachments when you use File, Send by email? They appear to be a complete waste of space as a) Outlook blocks them anyway immediately and b) most email virus scanners stop them as well. In fact, can anybody *actually* use them??? Also, I'm sure it used to put the title of the web page in the subject line... And whilst I'm having a moan, how do I get rid of that pre/post amble it sticks in the body of the message? Thanks, Rob.

  • 3. IE and JavaScript
Hi everyone... I got a problem with the IE and JavaScript. I have a site displaying a frameset. In one frame I have a form and in another frame I have the submit-button. It's not really a button it's simply an image. By clicking the image, javaScripts calls a method, which checks if the button is enabled or not. If so it submits the form... When the form is submitted and the IE builds the page, you can still click on the OK-image. Doing so the IE stops building the page and breaks up in the middle of the HTML-code. How can I solve this problem??? Anyone encountered the same? Thanks... Ask me if you don't understand something... It's kinda tricky =)
  • 4. SSL warning on a different profile
This is my first post here. I'm having a problem with Internet Explorer 6 (Windows XP SP2) and a SSL warning. Let me explain first: users that go to a webmail site get a SSL certificate warning. I have succesfully let the warning disappear by installing the root certificate. All was well, I copied "NTUSER.DAT", "ntuser.ini" and "ntuser.dat.log" from "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator" to "C:\Documents and Settings\Default User". This is to let any user loggin on to the computer to have the same desktop settings as I set for the administrator, and not to have them deal with the candy Start Menu, personal menu's, hiding known file extentions, or any other not-so-well-though-trough default setting. Now, when a normal user logs on, and browses to webmail, the user still gets the SSL certificate warning, even though every other setting from the Administrator profile was copied to the normal user account! Where does Internet Explorer save these kind of settings and how can I export them to default users?

When files are transferred from unix to windows the date of the files in the windows explorer is wrong i.e. 26-10-2004 instead of 26-10-2005 for a file that is transferred today Any patch to fix it?

Favorites sub-folder keeps disappearing

Postby Noangel » Fri, 18 Nov 2005 08:23:49 GMT

Hi All,

Some time ago, I created a sub-folder in my favorites list called
"shopping". Beginning about 6 months ago, every once in a while (often),
that particular folder disappears. EVERY other folder and link remains
intact. I've exported the list so that I can import it and restore the
"shopping" folder, but there's a major flaw with that. Unless I export the
list every time that I make an addition or deletion anywhere in the list
(sub-folders or direct links), the import of the backup will only restore
what was in place at the time of the export. I'm sure I could export only
the "shopping" folder, but again, I'd have to do with each edit.

Why is this folder disappearing and how do I make it STOP?!

PS
Checked Advanced tab in Internet Options and "Enable personalized Favorites
menu" is NOT checked.

Thanks in advance. This has be driving out of my mind!

Nancy

Hi Nancy,
I can't think of a reason why this should be happening. 'Shopping' may be
recognised by some anit-spy programs on your puter and they may be removing
the folder.
Have you tried renaming the folder to something else that does not include
the word shopping?

I don't know. Maybe your husband has been deleting it behind your back to
curb your spending!!

No, I haven't tried that, but I will. Thanks for the pointer.

4.Outlook favorite folders keep disappearing!

Hi,

As per subject line - my Outlook Favorite folders keep disappearing!

I keep replacing them with the shortcuts back to the original folders,
but every now and again (read: perhaps a few times per day) they
disappear and I'm just left with the Unread Mail folder....

Any ideas?

5.Favorites mail folders keep disappearing

I have an intermittent problem with the Favorites folder
in Mail. I'll add several folders that I want to keep an
eye on. Frequently, of late, when I reboot or quit OL
and then restart most of the folders I've added are
gone. Once everything disappeared, but most often it
seems that the last 2 or 3 that I've added are still
there but everything else has disappeared.

Anyone know what gives here?

Ken
