I am running the new IE7 and have been using the beta since it came out. Everytime a updates beta was released I would uninstall and install the new beta. I am now running the final release and it is always crashing on me. Is this a known problem? Are there any fixes for it?
  • 2. IE6 mem usage and virtual memory grows and grows until crash
At about the 200 mg or mem mark my IE6 just ceases to open new pages. The right click menu won't open, and even Task Manager won't open, or if it does, I can't see the entire window. Obviously the system is low on memory at that point. I've tried running Hijackthis and did some spyware scans. Nothing unusual shows up. I just wait a moment, close any running exe files, open task manager, and close the remaining IExplore.exe (which is in the correct directory btw.) I'm wondering if the Spybot BHO or SiteAdvisor's BHO is causing a problem. SiteAdvisor also has an O18 Protocol loading, and an O4 executable file loading. That little important piece of freeware is becoming a pain ever since McAfee bought it. The first versions didn't load that much in the registry. Now it first takes you to their nag ad page before you can check on a site. Is the O16 Windows Genuine Genuine Advantage Validation Tool necessary, or can I use Hijackthis to delete it? Any solutions (excuse the crosspost but I thought that the more the merrier who contribute an answer).

Favorites sub-folder keeps disappearing

Postby Noangel » Fri, 18 Nov 2005 08:23:49 GMT

Hi All,

Some time ago, I created a sub-folder in my favorites list called
"shopping". Beginning about 6 months ago, every once in a while (often),
that particular folder disappears. EVERY other folder and link remains
intact. I've exported the list so that I can import it and restore the
"shopping" folder, but there's a major flaw with that. Unless I export the
list every time that I make an addition or deletion anywhere in the list
(sub-folders or direct links), the import of the backup will only restore
what was in place at the time of the export. I'm sure I could export only
the "shopping" folder, but again, I'd have to do with each edit.

Why is this folder disappearing and how do I make it STOP?!

PS
Checked Advanced tab in Internet Options and "Enable personalized Favorites
menu" is NOT checked.

Thanks in advance. This has be driving out of my mind!

Nancy

Hi Nancy,
I can't think of a reason why this should be happening. 'Shopping' may be
recognised by some anit-spy programs on your puter and they may be removing
the folder.
Have you tried renaming the folder to something else that does not include
the word shopping?

I don't know. Maybe your husband has been deleting it behind your back to
curb your spending!!

No, I haven't tried that, but I will. Thanks for the pointer.

menu in Start menu. One of them is

Hello everybody,

There is one strange problem to my user’s pc (XP sp3) with outlook 2003. I add a folder to the Favorites folder and after closing and restarting Outlook every added folder to Favorites has disappeared. I have already tried the /resetnavpane but the problem still exists.

4.Outlook favorite folders keep disappearing!

Hi,

As per subject line - my Outlook Favorite folders keep disappearing!

I keep replacing them with the shortcuts back to the original folders,
but every now and again (read: perhaps a few times per day) they
disappear and I'm just left with the Unread Mail folder....

Any ideas?

5.Favorites mail folders keep disappearing

I have an intermittent problem with the Favorites folder
in Mail. I'll add several folders that I want to keep an
eye on. Frequently, of late, when I reboot or quit OL
and then restart most of the folders I've added are
gone. Once everything disappeared, but most often it
seems that the last 2 or 3 that I've added are still
there but everything else has disappeared.

Anyone know what gives here?

Ken
