  • 1. IE Address Bar Missing for .MHT files
WinXP IE SP1 The other day I noticed that the address bar had disappeared from the IE browser when I was online. I did a little searching and found how to get it back, which worked fine for everything but .mht documents. (I went to View--Toolbars, Unlocked the toolbar, unchecked "Address", rechecked "Address", dragged the "Address" word from the right side of the screen downwards and the bar appeared. I relocked the toolbar again.) The address bar is now there for regular browsing but when I open saved files in .mht format I can not get the Address toolbar option to stay checked. I can get it to show an address bar by going through the above process, but once I close the browser and try again, it's back to being missing again and the Address selection is unchecked again. Other file types show the address bar fine. I also tried deleting the WebBrowser registry entry, but it made no difference. I tried System Restore, going back about 2 weeks, but no difference. Thanks for any tips! Vickie
  • 2. Peculiar problem on IE6
IE6 was working fine till this morning...Now I cannot open any url. It says page cannot be displayed. Check your internet connection. I tried several sites using ip address also. I can ping to these url's in a command mode. Surprisingly my MSN messenger and Yahoo messenger works fine. Only IE is not working. Any clues what's going wrong?
  • 3. Help! Should be and easy one!
I have stopped using explorer, as when it opens a new window (from a 'click here' link, or indeed, any link, or even when I open the link in a new window), the new window stays blank- even though the flag is waving in the corner, it always stays empty! I have been through internet settings, but no luck. Anyone any thoughts? I want to start to use it again as a browser- but this problem makes it totally unusable. Thank you in advance for your wisdom. Simon

Favorites sub-folder keeps disappearing

Postby Noangel » Fri, 18 Nov 2005 08:23:49 GMT

Hi All,

Some time ago, I created a sub-folder in my favorites list called
"shopping". Beginning about 6 months ago, every once in a while (often),
that particular folder disappears. EVERY other folder and link remains
intact. I've exported the list so that I can import it and restore the
"shopping" folder, but there's a major flaw with that. Unless I export the
list every time that I make an addition or deletion anywhere in the list
(sub-folders or direct links), the import of the backup will only restore
what was in place at the time of the export. I'm sure I could export only
the "shopping" folder, but again, I'd have to do with each edit.

Why is this folder disappearing and how do I make it STOP?!

PS
Checked Advanced tab in Internet Options and "Enable personalized Favorites
menu" is NOT checked.

Thanks in advance. This has be driving out of my mind!

Nancy

Hi Nancy,
I can't think of a reason why this should be happening. 'Shopping' may be
recognised by some anit-spy programs on your puter and they may be removing
the folder.
Have you tried renaming the folder to something else that does not include
the word shopping?

I don't know. Maybe your husband has been deleting it behind your back to
curb your spending!!

No, I haven't tried that, but I will. Thanks for the pointer.

I have created a number of sub-folders in my favorites
menu in Start menu. One of them is

Hello everybody,

There is one strange problem to my user’s pc (XP sp3) with outlook 2003. I add a folder to the Favorites folder and after closing and restarting Outlook every added folder to Favorites has disappeared. I have already tried the /resetnavpane but the problem still exists.

4.Outlook favorite folders keep disappearing!

Hi,

As per subject line - my Outlook Favorite folders keep disappearing!

I keep replacing them with the shortcuts back to the original folders,
but every now and again (read: perhaps a few times per day) they
disappear and I'm just left with the Unread Mail folder....

Any ideas?

5.Favorites mail folders keep disappearing

I have an intermittent problem with the Favorites folder
in Mail. I'll add several folders that I want to keep an
eye on. Frequently, of late, when I reboot or quit OL
and then restart most of the folders I've added are
gone. Once everything disappeared, but most often it
seems that the last 2 or 3 that I've added are still
there but everything else has disappeared.

Anyone know what gives here?

Ken
