  • 1. Chart type for machine timing diagram?
Does Excel have a good chart type to use for a machine timing diagram? A timing diagram is typically made up of multiple data series, each plotted in separate plot areas. The plot areas are stacked vertically to layout the timing of each function within the machine. I would like to select the entire data range chart the data. I suppose I could chart each data series (each machine function) separately but I do not know how to perfectly align the axis gridlines of multiple charts.
  • 2. chart disappears
In excel 2007 I have data on a sheet from which I created a chart. I then moved the chart to its own sheet. I updated the data once a day for a couple days and the chart was also updated. Then one day I open the file and the chart is gone. The sheet it was on is still there. The data sheet is still there, but the sheet is gone (or not visible?) and I can't figure out why or how to get it back. This is happened twice now and is getting quite irritating. Any thoughts?

I have charts made with Excel 4.0 with markers and I would like to create new
charts in Excel 2003 with the same style of markers.

I can remember that far back so I'm not sure what markers where available ;)

Have a look at Jon's page which show you how to use any shape as a marker.

1.Excel old style 4.0 macro

I have two questions -
1)Is there any way to convert Excel 4 macros to VBA, and
2) I have inherited a macro written in Excel 4.0. It is a
periodically done routine to move dated numbers into a "previous"
column, clear out the cells for new entries. It had been working fine
on WinNT2000, Excel 2000, but somehow, the latest one I received has a
glitch: there are two macros in the file, and each macro has been
duplicated, for a total of four macros. When the button for the
associated macro is pressed, the message "The macro
'Filename.xls'!'MacroName' cannot be found" appears. It appears to me
that the duplicate macro ranges is causing the problem. If so, how do
I get rid of them? I try deleting the range names, but they still
appear in the Tools/Macro dialog box. Thanks for any help.

2.Is there a font that contain the Excel chart series marker styles

I'm have a need to create a legend to show the points outside the Excel
charting environment. Does anyone know of a font that includes most of
Excel's chart series marker style?

3.Excel 2003-Style Merge dropdown box is empty-styles are preset

I am trying to merge Styles that I have preset in a workbook. When I select
Format, Styles, Merge, the Merge Styles window opens however, there are no
choices showing. There are plenty of Styles that exist, but they are not
showing to choose. I have upgrades and downloaded latest application options.

Thanks for your assistance.

4.Can't find Excel 4.0 Macro in Excel 2003

I have a spreadsheet that I have inherited (believe it was written in 95).

Anyway, one of the buttons has a macro attached called LANDMAC!LandIt.

When I try to find the macro, it is not in the macro list.

I went to File...Properties...Contents and under "Excel 4.0 Macros" it
lists LANDMAC.

Where can I see the contents of this Macro? I thought it might be in
another file, but I can't find it.

Please Help!

5.Excel 4.0 Macro Help --> Excel 2003

Is there a help file (or some documentation) for Excel 4.0 macros available
for Excel 2003? I know that such a file exists for Excel 2000, but Excel
2003 help has this to say about that file "Important You can only use this
help file with Microsoft Excel 2000." I am looking specifically for
documentation on the TRACER.DISPLAY method.

Thank you in advance.
