• 1. Percentage data with one entry extremely high
I have a chart with percentage data over a 15 year period - percentage changes year over year. The percentages are in the range of 5% to about 15%. However, there is one year for a variety of reasons, the percentage change reached about 200%. To encompass the 200%, the chart shows the usual 5% - 15% in a rather narrow band. In the manual days, we could use a jagged/broken line part way up and label the % - i.e. 200%. It didn't upset the spread of the normal percentages on the Y axis. Is there a way of doing that with Excel charts? Thanks for your help. Norm.
• 2. Charting in Columns
Hi I have sales figures of two departments in columns on a monthly basis. The third column is the monthly total for these two departments. How can I show all this data in a single columnar chart? For eg. 'A' sales figure for Jan is \$500 'B' sales figure for Jan \$1000 'C' total sales Jan is \$1500 assuming that X axis is months and Y axis is amount in \$ Is it possible to show this data in a columnar chart or any other type of chart the way that I want to? Many thanks in advance

### Pie Chart Color/Pattern

```I have a pie chart with visual effect.  Management had requested that I
change the color to BW pattern cause they want to publish it in Black &
White.  Can it be done?  If so, how?
Thanks,
CJC
```

### Re: Pie Chart Color/Pattern

```Under file page setup, select the chart tab, select black and white and then
do a print preview
Excel will then change the default colors to black and white patterns that
are very distinguishable
from each other
```I have Excel 2003. I'd like to have the second pie in a pie of pie chart
represent 100% of the slice it details. Currently, the slices in the second
pie show their percentage of the 1st pie not their percentage of the slice
they come from. One of my clients insists that the second pie show percent of
the slice they detail not percent of the original pie. Other than creating
separate pie charts, is there a way for Excel to normalize the percentages in
the second pie.

Thanks,
Judy H

```I have a requirement to have a Bar of Pie and a Pie of Pie in one
Chart.
Assuming there are two slices in the main pie chart I want to explode
one slice as a Pie of Pie and the other slice to be exploded as a bar
of pie.
Is this possible please suggest a solution I am planning to use this
for depicting a profitability analysis statement.
Thanks
```Hi

How can I do the following:

Lets say I have the following labels and data
For the main pie I have A,B,C labels with A =5, B =10, and C =20.  So my
main pie would show 3 slices with C being the largest slice.

To do this I highlight the 3 labels and their data and choose Insert, Pie,
Pie in a Pie to show a main pie on the left with 3 slices and a smaller solid
pie to the right with series lines connectiing them.

I want to show the solid smaller pie on the right in several slices to show
how the C slice of 20 is broken down. lets say the main slice C of 20 is made
up of  C1=3, C2=3, C3=3, C4=4, C5=4, C6=3
so I want my smaller pie to the right to not be solid but show 6 slices.

So I want a main pie with 3 slices on the left with the small pie with 6
slices on the right; those 6 slices make up the main pie's C slice.

Thank you!!!

Craig
