  • 1. Opening Outlook Express opens TV card audio stream
I have a weird problem. I have a Leadtek Winfast TV2000 XP Expert TV Card and If I open a TV viewing app, like K!TV or Winfast PVR, after closing it, if I then open Outlook Express 6, the audio stream from the card suddenly opens up! I have the card connected to the AUX IN socket of my Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 motherboard. I have the latest audio driver from Realtek for my AC97 audio, the latest driver for my TV Card and Windows XP SP1. How could Outlook Express stream audio from AUX IN?!?
  • 2. Can not open Attachment:
I am using Windows XP, with OE 6 & IE. In the Sent Items I have an e-mail with a: 1 .img (37.3 KB) Attachment I cannot open, when I click to open a Window pops up with the following Message: "This File does not have a Program associated with It for performing this action. Create an Association in the folder Options Control Panel" This is new to me I never run into similar situation before, Could anyone Please describe how to create an Association in the folder Options Control Panel ? Thanks in Advance, x@y
  • 3. Order of Address Book (name recognition) recipients
I have a question as this is driving me crazy. When I send an email to my husband and type in his name my outlook express automatically fills in the rest of the name until I continue to type and it becomes obvious. The problem is that I have 3 people in my address book with the same first name that I never email and I want my husbands name to come up first when I type in the name "Scott". Because the others have names closer to the letter A (alphabetized) he is not the first one that pops up and I have to keep typing. How do I change the order of name recognition? Thanks!
  • 4. Incoming messages not chronological
A new message may appear 10 messages down - how do I get them to be at the top instead of mixed up with emails received earlier in the day? I also would like to have the newest messages be at the bottom. They used to be that way and then suddenly new messages were at the top. I'd like to go back to the way it was where the oldest messages are at the top and newest ones are at the bottom. I'd appreciate some help with these problems.
  • 5. Folder Bar
When I click on the folder bar to look at the list of newsgroups I'm subscribed to some of the newsgroups are bolded with a number next to them that tells me how many messages are not downloaded. How do I get these messages to down load? I am set to download 500 headers/messages at a time and some of these newsgroups only have 10 - 20 messages in them.

Passwords not saving in OE 6

Postby Ilmarinen » Mon, 22 Sep 2003 19:07:03 GMT

Hello,

I have Windows XP, and I came across a problem of none of my passwords
saving in OE - forms and passwords and such in IE don't save either - and
other issues, but I hope this is enough info.

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks :)

First, make sure that "Protected Storage" service is running. Click Start /
Run / Services.msc
If it is already ON, try this:

Your Outlook Express Password Is Not Retained in Windows 2000 or XP

Sorry Rick. I just realized how many groups that was cross posted to. I
thought maybe you were looking for a change of pace in the OE6 group. <g>
