  • 1. How to customize reminders
Is there a way to customize what is shown in the reminder pop-up. I work with BCM and enter my leads as Business Contacts. When the reminder pop-up comes up it shows the name of the customer instead of the companies name. Is there a way to change this? Also, when i set a new reminder, the default time is always 04:00 p.m. My general reminder time is 8:00 a.m. and i would like to set this as the new default. Is there a way to change this? Thanks a lot for your help! -Anja
  • 2. Why BCM over Outlook?
Can anyone share why they like BCM over using just Outlook?
  • 3. Buy Outlook 2007 + BCM seperately?
I'm trialing Office 2007 for small business and note a tip on the support site that says ONLY the standalone version of Outlook with Business Contact Manager works with Word 2003 etc. I'm an indepedent recruitment agent and I save, modify and re-issue to companies, many CV's from individuals using earlier versions of Word. Buying the student edition of Office and the standalone version of Outlook with Business Contact Manager would meet my needs and cost $200 LESS than buying the Small Business version because I don't need accounting software (low volume sales) and I don't need Publisher (WORD does the job). Am I correct in thinking that the Small Business version would not give me the compatibilty I need with my candidate's 'legacy' documents which I want to hold within Outlook BCM?
  • 4. BCM Database file - access from external drive?
I have created a BCM database of all of our customers and I was curious if there was a way to have this file located on our networked external hardrive so 2 computers will have access to it? I want each computer to have the latest contact info and for either computer to be able to edit the data and for it to show up on the other system. I found the file location and copied the file to the external drive. I have gone into the data file management, and under data files highlighted BCM then clicked settings. Since the file is not on another 'computer' how can I access the file? I have tried using the IP of the external drive, but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  • 5. Marketing Campaign Delivery Status
When sending an e-mail marketing campaign (using a Publsiher e-mail merge), how do you get the campaign to update the delivery status and campaign results? Do you have to use the Microsoft E-mail Marketing Service to to get delivery status and campaign results. Outlook receives the e-mail failure notices, read receipts and replies from the marketing campaign (Ican manually review each one), did MS set this up so that you have to pay for an additional service to use the data on your computer? Thanks.

Email AutoLink in view column

Postby SmFuZSBLaXJrbGFuZA » Mon, 17 Nov 2008 05:05:00 GMT

I would like a column in my inbox view that indicated wheter a sender has
been auto-linked to a contact or linked to a project. How can I do this? I
know how to add columns and define them but I don't know which field(s) have
the information I need.

1.remove column in all email views

I put some add in to my Outlook 2003 about 8 months ago that was
supposed to help me keep track of my emails. I did not like it and
uninstalled it. However, any time I create a new mail folder now
outlook automatically makes a thread and categories column. How can I
get it to stop this behavior?

I would also like a way to remove all the categories and thread columns
in all my folders so I don't have to go into each folder and do it by
hand. I am a programmer so doing it programmatically is not an issue.

2.Add Column to view Sender's Email Address

Hi, I am trying to add a column in Outlook 2002 which
displays the senders email address. Any ideas? The only
way I can currently do this is by opening the email, and
then right-clicking the name, and then displaying the
properties. This takes forever! Thanks for your help

3.Email Autolinking Gives False Date

Can anyone explain why BCM does not record the date sent for an email? It
records the date created as the day the first autolinking was run when a
contact is added.

It would be far more useful to show the date the email was sent (which may
predate the day the contact was added.
