If you are using Business Contact Manager 2003 Update SP2 and Business Contact Manager 2007 Beta, you can import Outlook contacts into Business Contacts through BCM import/export wizard. On Outlook window, goto File->Import Export->Business Contact Manager. This will bring up BCM import/export wizard. Select import option and click next. In next screen, you will see Outlook Contact as one of the option. -Mukesh "Luther" wrote: > What problem are you running into when you try to drag the contacts to > a BCM folder? > > jerald wrote: > > Help Please... I have about 400 addresses kept in a Microsoft Access database. I use word and merge to email to contact them but can only send them one at a time because I keep getting the message that a programme is trying to access the addresses which might be a virus and am I aware of this. I have to click yes every time. Can I change the settings so that this message doesn't appear and all the emails are sent automatically.
  • 3. Unable to activate BCM even though it is installed
Greetings, When I click on the enable BCM link I get a message that states BCM is already enabled, restart Outlook to use BCM. After a restart, BCM does not show up in Outlook. If you delete the user's Outlook profile and then recreate, a wizard pops up when you first open Outlook under the new profile and you can successfully configure BCM. I don't want to have to do this for everyone, some have very complex profiles(no, the save my settings wizard does not work). I also tried to run the enableBCM.exe file manually with no joy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Location of the database in BCM update?

Postby Z3JlZW5lYXJ0aA » Sat, 11 Mar 2006 14:30:21 GMT

I'm ready to deploy the BCM update - I installed in on my computer in
preparation to share it with three others in my office. I noticed on the
wizard I have no way to choose where the database is located. We have a
"shared" hard drive, and that is where I'd like to put it - but can't find
out how. Is it possible to move the database to another drive? What is the
default location for the database?

The database is in
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager

My advice is don't move it to a shared drive because SQL Server is not a
simple file-based like other dbms.

Thanks - I began to gather after looking into BCM more, this was no ordinary
.pst file I could move around!

No, it is a SQL database.

5.changing location of BCM database files

Hello,

On our SBS server, I would like to change the location of the BCM database
files (MDF, LDF, BAK) to something other than the default "Application Data"
folder in "Documents and Settings". We are currently using the BCM Database
Admin Tool to create/share the database, but it is always stored in the
default location.

There has been some discussion about this in the past (specifically, about
modifying the BCM location in SQL), but I wan't able to find any concrete
solutions. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
