Hi there, I have just installed the updated Business Contact Manager. With the previous version, I never had any problems working in an offline environment. With the new version, every time I start Outlook offline, I get an error message saying 'information store could not be opened' and I don't see the BCM menu and I have no access to BCM data. If I start online and then switch to offline, the problem does not occur. My outlook is set to work with an Exchange server. Can anyone help me ? Bob
  • 2. "out of system memory resources" when opening.
When I try to open Microsoft Outlook 2003 in XP pro, this message appears. I believe my system has lots of memory, and i try to open with no other programs running. How do I open ? Do I have to boot my whole computer in safe mode?

Message appears "The report could not be generated. Try again." Printer drivers are O.K.

Does anyone know if it is possible that through a backup and restore of the MSBusinessContactManager within MSDE, that I could restore this database to a SQL Server 2000? I have seen within the profile configuration for Mail Profiles, that the data file for BCM can be selected, has anyone attempted to migrate this database to SQL Server 2000, and change the reference to the BCM data file accordingly? Also, does anyone know of a good resource to compare BCM and Microsoft CRM, and possibly other 3rd party vendor's like Goldmine? Anyone have any comments regarding these CRM products would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave

BCM install error on XP SP3 with Outlook 2007 - cant install Interop

Postby Igor Austin » Fri, 19 Feb 2010 03:00:09 GMT

Hi, I have been trying to run the latest BCM .exe install on various
XP systems but keep hitting an error - cant install due to Office
Interop failure. The logs show its not permitted by the system
policy....but its a completely clean XP with Outlook 2007 pro with no
policies set. The control panel shows the Interop as installed but
there are no system files or evidence of it on the drive.

Has anyone worked out a fix for Interop error? I can see a few posts
on this but no fix! - I guess it must be an offending reg key
somewhere but I have had no luck finding one.

Thanks in advance

2.(revised) INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

An Addendum - 10 minutes later)
I just went into the DATA FILE MANAGEMENT setting on OLK (outlook) and added
BCM. Like before - it installs it but there is NO TOOLBAR so I cannot
restore - move - or add contact to my old BCM contact database. (from a
previous version of outlook). SO - my problems are reduced to ADDING THE BCM
TOOLBAR to the top of my OUTLOOK 2003 window.
I have the OUTLOOK CONNECTOR showing but no BCM. thanx again - in advance -

3.Cant install BCM becasue SQL won't install

I've tried the tricks I found posted here (deleting all SQL programs,
deleting folders and emptying trash, and even cleaning the registry), but my
install of BCM won't install SQL. Any clued?

4.INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

HI - whew - please help me get my OUTLOOK w/bcm to show my BC's again.

I excitedly have the fat 2 disk set of OFFICE SBM 2006. It works but for the
BCM (the second most important part after email). In increasingly desperate
attempts to get it to function correctly, I read and did most of what was
suggested here in this forum. I put in CD ONE to put in OUTLOOK, put in CD 2
to added BCM (and accounting) and after several attempts of install and
un-install and re-install I got it to work - BUT with NO TOOLBAR. sigh... 2
days full of frustrating hours I have NO BCM, NO TOOLBAR and NO MORE CLUES as
to what to do.

PULEEEEZE TEAM MS - help me get back to work here.
FEEDBACK CLUES: The registry (as in another post) says: REGDWORD (3) and
I've done ALL of the updates. BIG CLUE - I also re-installed WINXP (pro) and
noticed it added me (log in name) twice, once as DRIX (primary) and NOW I'm
DRIX.millhouse (my network) with my other programs still listed there but w/o
functionality to them. (sigh again...) PULEEEZE help me kidz - im losing
time - patience - AND the names/numbers to MY CLIENTS!!!!!!! (yikes!)
THANX - I'll be here waiting for your holy words of cure.
