  • 2. cannot restore from backup
I cannot restore a backup ssb file to a different computer. Message: Cannot restore this database because you were not authorized to back up or restore databases when this one was originally backed up... Contact database owner or system administration..." Great. I *am* a single user, so I've contacted myself and I don't know the answer. Using BCM/Outlook 2007. Vista machine. Backed up to USB drive. Restored to an XP notebook. Worked on for several days. Backed up. I tried restoring it to the admin account on by Vista box, and it worked. But I of course can't see that from my user account. My user account was changed to be an administrator, so I should have the same rights, yes? Did a google on the error message and found no help. Hope someone here has the magic bullet. toskey
  • 3. Automatically sequence e-mails to follow a process flow?
Does Outlook (perhaps combined with InfoPath) offer a feature where a user can set up a sequence of contacts to follow a process flow? For example, an approval process: 1. a user creates a request 2. sends to another contact for approval 3. Once approved, it automatically gets sent to the next appropriate contacts and continues down the process flow until completion

BCM 2007 not installed from digital locker download

Postby ZWJk » Wed, 14 Feb 2007 21:59:00 GMT

I bought Office Pro 2007 upgrade from the MS digital locker. One file
(x12-30196.exe) was downloaded and it installed everything except BCM. It is
not listed in add/remove, not listed as an option to install, cannot find it
anywhere. There is no 2nd download in the digital locker as others have said
the trial version has. I don't want a complicated fix, I just want the file
to install. Thank you.

ebd,

We're looking into this.

In the meantime, please retrieve download 2 of Office Pro from the trial
site at http://www.**--****.com/ 'll have to go through
entering your contact info, but since BCM does not require a separate key,
you should be ready to go. Please let me know if this works for you.

I am sorry for the inconvenience, and we'll get the digital locker resolved
ASAP.

Thanks,
Chris

I copied the DVD contents to the drive, same error.

I have searched google, MS,... no joy.

I have logged on with the Administrator account, same amount of joy.

This is a multi-license disk. I have installed from this disk twice before
this time.

Could be hardware related. The same error message on this computer with XP
home installed. So we "upgraded" to Vista to enjoy the same level of
disappointment and shame.

You probably tried installing it from a CD. There are multiple ways to try
and get around this problem. You might have to try all of them:
Use a Virtual CD program to open the ISO directly and run setup from there.
For Windows XP, you can use the Microsoft Virtual CD Control Panel. For
Vista, you can use e.g. the Daemon Tools.
Extract the ISO to a directory, e.g. using WinRAR.
Extract the ISO and perform a network i

By the way, Microsoft sucks!!!

4.(revised) INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

An Addendum - 10 minutes later)
I just went into the DATA FILE MANAGEMENT setting on OLK (outlook) and added
BCM. Like before - it installs it but there is NO TOOLBAR so I cannot
restore - move - or add contact to my old BCM contact database. (from a
previous version of outlook). SO - my problems are reduced to ADDING THE BCM
TOOLBAR to the top of my OUTLOOK 2003 window.
I have the OUTLOOK CONNECTOR showing but no BCM. thanx again - in advance -

5.INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

HI - whew - please help me get my OUTLOOK w/bcm to show my BC's again.

I excitedly have the fat 2 disk set of OFFICE SBM 2006. It works but for the
BCM (the second most important part after email). In increasingly desperate
attempts to get it to function correctly, I read and did most of what was
suggested here in this forum. I put in CD ONE to put in OUTLOOK, put in CD 2
to added BCM (and accounting) and after several attempts of install and
un-install and re-install I got it to work - BUT with NO TOOLBAR. sigh... 2
days full of frustrating hours I have NO BCM, NO TOOLBAR and NO MORE CLUES as
to what to do.

PULEEEEZE TEAM MS - help me get back to work here.
FEEDBACK CLUES: The registry (as in another post) says: REGDWORD (3) and
I've done ALL of the updates. BIG CLUE - I also re-installed WINXP (pro) and
noticed it added me (log in name) twice, once as DRIX (primary) and NOW I'm
DRIX.millhouse (my network) with my other programs still listed there but w/o
functionality to them. (sigh again...) PULEEEZE help me kidz - im losing
time - patience - AND the names/numbers to MY CLIENTS!!!!!!! (yikes!)
THANX - I'll be here waiting for your holy words of cure.
