We have two conference rooms, a main conference room and a secondary conference room, we've often had people double book the rooms for meetings. To avoid this is there a way we can set-up each one of these as a "resource" so we can sign them in and out in BCM?

This is a loose translation of a Dutch warning I get when I want to open eg. Contacts or Accounts via the BCM menu bar in Outlook 2007 It is not really annoying, you can continue working after clicking OK. But the warning keeps on popping up. Anyone familiar with this problem, or, even better, the solution.
  • 4. VPN causes BCM to create new database
When I connect to a BCM db through a VPN, the system seems to think it is a new db, and runs the initial setup, prompting to create an offline copy, etc. When in the office, I can connect using the server name (\\server), but I have to use the ip address when connected thru the vpn. (The VPN is Hamachi, and the server's ip address is different than when connected locally in the office.) This causes two databases to exist on the laptop, and defeats the ability to work offline from a laptop. Is the VPN the issue? Why does BCM think it is a new db? Would using a hardware vpn solve the problem? Thanks in advance, Dennis

Hi Scott,

Did you have previous versions of BCM installed on this machine?
If you did, make sure Outlook is not running when you uninstall older
version of Outlook+BCM.

Look at the FAQ on BCM blog in case you find the answer to your question:
 http://www.**--****.com/

thanks.

This is what worked for me when I had the problem you discribed:
First, I exported(for safety), then deleted this registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Business Solutions eCRM.

Good luck.

5.BCM 2007 installation failed

Hi,

I have installed Office Professional 2007 with no problems, however when I
attempt to install BCM with the separate CD the installation fails whilst
installing "small business connectivity components".

The full error message reads: "Setup failed to install the required
component Microsoft Office Small Business Connectivity Components. Business
Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 cannot continue..."

I am then referred to MBSetuptmp7.log for more information. The last 20
lines of this file are shown below:
