Jim: Yes, you can share Business Contact Manager info but not tasks and appointments. Exchange handles email, tasks, and appointments. BCM handles CRM data -- contacts, accounts, opportunities, projects and project tasks. Lon, thanks for the answer, but Microsoft needs to rethink this. I also have a small business with a few people in different countries. Would I need to get exchange for us to share project tasks - that sounds a bit daunting since I don't even have a server. why can't MS open up tasks sharing just like they do in Outlook? Are there any work arounds? Perhaps another tool like Accomplice (www.accomplice.com) would resolve this limitation. I'll have to investigate. Jim
No, Project Tasks are inside BCM, not Exchange. So, that should work fine. You might look again at hosted Exchange -- it's about $10 per month per user. Well worth the price, IMHO... Lon, I was trying to follow this thread and was not totally clear. If one would have 2007 professional (BCM included) on 5 laptops with a hosted exchange server, what would have to be done to share the BCM data across the laptops/users for CRM (i.e. projects, opportunities, etc.)? Or how do you create a centralized BCM data base for everyone to access and sychronize to?
1.Retrieve Contact info from Business Contact Manager
How do I retrieve and place contact information and other data from Business Contact Manager from another application like word or preferabaly visual studio office tools? And why is the information only meant for 1 person, if it is stored in a MSDE? If its stored in a database, then you should be ableto retrieve it simply with some sql commands. thank you for any input patb
2.How do I add more contact info into Business Contact Manager recor
Can additional fields be added to Business Contacts for additional phone numbers, web sites, etc.? I want to change from using Access database, but BCM does not contain enough fields for my information.
3.Business Contact Manager shared database when shared

4.Outlook 2003 and Business Contact Manager - sharing contacts
We are a small business and we have MS Exchange Server and Office Professional 2003. I came across the Business Contact Manager update. Is it possible for us to use Business Contact Manager for sharing contacts in the office (15 users)? Also, how is this different for a traditional cotact manager? I saw some articles but they seem to apply to Outllok 2007. Thanks
5.share a contact between outlook and business contact manager
I would like a contact to be shared between Business Contact Manager and my regular "Contacts" folder in Outlook. I'm running Office 2003 Pro. There are a number of reasons for this: * Have contact synchronize with my Palm Treo 600 * Have contact appear when searching by category * Have contacts in one place sorted by category for mailings Is this possible? When I drag the contact into business contact manager from my contacts folder, it disappears from the first one and now only lives in the business contact manager. I can't search "Contacts" and "Business Contacts" together, but have to search each individually. And my business contacts don't sync with my palm. The only solution I found so far is to copy the contact into business contacts, so that there are now 2 copies.
