1.BCM issues getting contacts into BCM
I am having trouble getting contacts into Accounts in BCM
and getting Contacts into Business Contacts and I can't
even get to Opportunities. I have tried to "copy all" drag
and drop into both Accounts and/or Business Contacts but
then they don't seem to "link" incoming email. Also, in
order for emails to register as a link do they have to
originate within an Account or BC?
Thanks
John
2.BCM Issues
I am running Windows XP Pro, With Office 03 PRO. I am on
a network with exchange, using Outlook with Exchange. I
want to install BCM, but cannot due to the exchange
issue. If I change my mail to POP 3, and give up the
Exchange Server advantages, will I be able to install BCM?
Please Help! This is making me crazy!
3.Outlook BCM issue...
I've posted this a few days ago in the Outlook general forum, but with no
response.
I am having an issue with Business Contact Manager in Outlook 2003.
I haven't been using it, but when I start up Outlook, there is a lengthy
delay (30 seconds or so) and I get this error message:
Microsoft Business Contact Manager
There was a problem connecting to the database engine. To try again, please
click Retry. If problem persists, check Help.
When I 'Cancel' this message, I receive this error message:
Business Contact Manager
Business Contact Manager cannot load all of your data. Please try again
later. Also, make sure you have permissions to access this data. If you're
unsure, check with you systems administrator.
If the problem persists, contact Support. To locate contact information,
click Business Contact Manager Help on the Help menu, click Basics, and then
click Contact Us.
After clicking 'OK', I am able to run Outlook fine, but the BCM features
will not work (I get the error messages again).
Could anyone point me in the right direction to try and rectify this issue?
Thanks very much.
Brian
4.Outlook 2007 + BCM issues, search returns nothing
Recently I've had some real issues with the Business Contact Manager
in Outlook. When I start up Outlook, I get the following error:
Business Contact Manager for Outlook could not connect to the shared
Database. Do you want to work off line?
If I select Yes, I'm presented with another message box: Cannot start
Business Contact Manager because the SQL server service (the Business
Contact Manager database service) is not running. Start the service
then restart Outlook. For more information, click Help.
So, I go into the services and try to manually start the SQL service,
I get the following error: Could not start the SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ)
service on local computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file
specified.
If I go into the SQL server configuration manager and start that DB, I
get the following error: The request failed or the service did not
respond in a timely fashion. Consult the event log or other
applicable error logs for details.
I was going to completely uninstall, then reinstall the BCM, but I
simply cannot find it any more! I can find the plug-ins for it, I can
find the SP1 for it...but I cannot find just the BCM installer! Has
it been discontinued for individual use like this?
Any info you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.
Even if it's just a link to the BCM so I can download it and uninstall
then reinstall.

5.Reminders in BCM issue
We use BCM between several users. We synch using export / import, then a
Back- up of the merged d/b is Restored to each machine.
From the Account screen, the user clicks on New, Task, (add some detail),
Reminder (set for date time etc), and then on the bottom via Contacts he /she
will manually attach this task to the Account.
After the merge, when the call back reminders come through, the user CANNOT
drill through to the account which was attached?
The error is "Cannot perform the requested operation, the command selected
is not valid for the recipient".
The user will only ever call back on their own accounts so I can see why
this happens or what the answer may be?
This may sound small but it very important to us can anyone help please?
Thank you.
