2.SharePoint, Upgrade SharePoint Service 3.0 to SharePoint Server 20
Hi All, I'm currently running SharePoint Services 3.0 and I would like to go to the full version, SharePoint Server 2007. Is this possible? Anyone tried it? I've had a look at the MS doco but there doesn't seem to be anything about upgrading/installing SharePoint Server 2007 over the top of SharePoint services 3.0. Thanks.
3.BCM 2003 server (share) & BCM 2007 client compatibility
Hi, I have just had a very frustrating day. So far I have learned that BCM 2003 uses TCP port 56183 and that BCM 2007 uses TCP port 5356. I have also discovered that BCM 2007 is hard coded to use port 5356. Whenever I attempt to connect BCM 2007 to a 2003 shared database it reports that it cannot connect. However, I can connect without problems using the osql command and I can query the data successfully. If I force BCM 2007 client to use port 56183 it connects but then it cannot see the database. ie, it will not allow me to pick the 2003 database from the drop down list. All other 2003 clients connect and work seamlessly, but we have just acquired 2 x XP PCs with office 2007 & BCM 2007. I guess I already know the answer, but does anyone else have this problem? Maybe someone might have a solution? Thank you, Storkeye
4.Can I share BCM V2 Database on 2003 by using BCM Data Admin Tool
I created a BCM database in my local machine and I would like to move it to the server so other machines on the network can have access to it as well. I used osql -E -S command to stop the BCM database from my machine and moved it to the server, and I re-attached BCM database from the server. EXEC sp_attach_db @dbname = N'STS_Config', @filename1 = N'C:\new_database_location\STS_Config.mdf', @filename2 = N'C:\new_database_location\STS_Config_log.ldf' Can I have other machine attach to the Database in the server the same way? Since I am the owner, I still have to give permission to user to access it. But I would rather perfer to have Admin on the server have the total control of DB. It seems MS2007 BCM Data Admin Tool is the way to go, but does it work on the database created by BCM V2 on MS2003? I installed the BCM Data Admin Tool + SQL 2005 Express, when I launch the Admin Tool it did not find the BCM Instance, is there a special way to configure that? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
