BCM was working just fine. Now it tells me that I cannot access that set of folders because the server is not running. I assume that this means the local SQL server. I have tried restarting in services, but it starts and immediately closes again. I would appreciate any help out there.

Outlook 2007 w/BCM and Act! 2006

Hello,

I have both Act! 2006 and Office 2007 installed on my work laptop. Can I
install and safely use Outlook 2007 w/BCM and Act! 2006 together at the same
time? I know that in the past with Act! and Outlook 2003 w/BCM there were
known conflicts when trying to use both applications together, so was
wondering if it is still the same case. Thanks.

Eric

I'm not aware of any conflicts and its not immediately obvious why
they should conflict. However,

If you install Act!'s Outlook add-in, it may conflict with BCM's add-
in--simply because Outlook loads them into the same process, and I've
come across add-ins that step on each other in the past. You can
probably tell ACT! not to install its Outlook add-in to avoid possible
problems.

Both use Sql Server, but difference instances. I'd install the most
recent of the two first, simply because recent code is more likely to
have resolve earlier problems, if any.

1.Importing an ACT 2006 format database into BCM

Does anyone know any tips on how to get an ACT 2006 format db to import into
BCM? The only route I can find is to convert the db to text delimited, then
to an .xls file and importing into BCM. I'm losing a lot of information this
way, and have to map the fields. I see that ACT has a converter installed,
but only works for older versions of this format. When I try to initialize
the converter it tells me I must have ACT 4.0 installed. I've got a newer
version and don't have access to an old copy. I've not been able to find any
work-arounds offered by MS or ACT. Any help would be appreciated.

Machine: XP Home w/all current updates
Software: Office 2003 w/all current updates

4.Outlook Importing ACT! 2006 Excported

Have Office XP and ACT! 2006. I want to import the contacts from ACT! to
Outlook directly but am not able to. I was able to do it with ACT! 2003. I
attempted to export ACT!2006 to comma separated values (CSV) file. The
entire contents of each contacts are able to export. However, when I attemp
to import it from Outlook, many of the address files are not imported. For
example, if I have an contact in ACT!2006 with three different addresses
(Home, Work, Mail), it will export to the CSV file and I can see it when I
open the file. However, after I import it from Outlook, only one address is
import but with only the city and state. Of course I've contacted ACT! for
help but they said it's an Outlook issue since everything export out.
What I really want is to be able to import contacts from directly ACT!2006
into Outlook. Can it be that ACT!2006 cannot be import from Outlook XP but
Outlook 2003?

Thanks,
Steven
