I would like a column in my inbox view that indicated wheter a sender has been auto-linked to a contact or linked to a project. How can I do this? I know how to add columns and define them but I don't know which field(s) have the information I need.
  • 3. Dealing with couples with different last names
I was wondering how other enter contacts with different last names? Right now, I enter spouses with the same last name like this: Last Name: Smith First Name: John & Jane So the name displays as: John & Jane Smith However, this does not work for couples who do not share the same last name. I thought about using the Spouse/Partner field under the details section. However, to make this a viable option, I need to be able to move that from the Personal Information Group to the Business Contact group in the Customize Form option. Is this possible? Does anyone have any better/other solutions? I do a lot of mail merges, so the solution must be able to display the full name of both contacts on letters/envelopes. First names only would be a plus too for letters.

I am not able to install BCM. Get message saying BCM will not install with
exchange server. My company uses "Enterprise Exchange Server." I tried
installing the suggested patch KB 831747 and still no patch exists of the

It sounds like you are running Outlook 2003. If so, you should install the
latest version of Business Contact Manager. What is the exact error message
you are seeing? Is the error displayed from within Outlook after installing
BCM?

We have a new workstation where we need to install Outlook. We can't begin
to do an install since we get a error message saying it can't find Exchange
Server. We removed ES from our server.

What is a work around?

Thanks in advance.

4.(revised) INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

An Addendum - 10 minutes later)
I just went into the DATA FILE MANAGEMENT setting on OLK (outlook) and added
BCM. Like before - it installs it but there is NO TOOLBAR so I cannot
restore - move - or add contact to my old BCM contact database. (from a
previous version of outlook). SO - my problems are reduced to ADDING THE BCM
TOOLBAR to the top of my OUTLOOK 2003 window.
I have the OUTLOOK CONNECTOR showing but no BCM. thanx again - in advance -

5.INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

HI - whew - please help me get my OUTLOOK w/bcm to show my BC's again.

I excitedly have the fat 2 disk set of OFFICE SBM 2006. It works but for the
BCM (the second most important part after email). In increasingly desperate
attempts to get it to function correctly, I read and did most of what was
suggested here in this forum. I put in CD ONE to put in OUTLOOK, put in CD 2
to added BCM (and accounting) and after several attempts of install and
un-install and re-install I got it to work - BUT with NO TOOLBAR. sigh... 2
days full of frustrating hours I have NO BCM, NO TOOLBAR and NO MORE CLUES as
to what to do.

PULEEEEZE TEAM MS - help me get back to work here.
FEEDBACK CLUES: The registry (as in another post) says: REGDWORD (3) and
I've done ALL of the updates. BIG CLUE - I also re-installed WINXP (pro) and
noticed it added me (log in name) twice, once as DRIX (primary) and NOW I'm
DRIX.millhouse (my network) with my other programs still listed there but w/o
functionality to them. (sigh again...) PULEEEZE help me kidz - im losing
time - patience - AND the names/numbers to MY CLIENTS!!!!!!! (yikes!)
THANX - I'll be here waiting for your holy words of cure.
