  • 1. Auto Linking
I have copied a contact from Outlook to BCM. E-mail linking is enabled. Some of my contacts show previous e-mails in History, others don't. I have verified that the e-mails exist from that contact, and I have manually set linking. the past e-mails still don't show up. Is there some step I'm missing? It works with most of my other contacts. Joe Parsons
  • 2. Help - how do I customise (and keep customisation) of account view
Hi I have customised an account view by inserting my own fields and this worked fine, but when I move away from the view and then return to it, it automatically reverts to the default view and doesn't retain my customised view. It looks like it should retain my customised view (because there is a 'restore default view' button in the customise section) so I thought it might be a glitch with the installation, so I unistalled it and reinstalled it but I'm having the same problem. I also installed the SP1 update from the microsoft site in case that helped but it didn't. Anyone know how I can resolve this? Thanks, Ruth
  • 3. cannot remove BCM
I am using office 2007 and business contact manager. I am having a major problem evertime outlook starts. A message continually pops up saying that "Business Contact manager failed to initialize the common language Runtime. The system cannot find the file specified". I have tried to remove BCM in add/remove programs but it crashes and won't uninstall. I have also tried microsoft's suggestions on how to manually remove it , which i have done but this message still appears evertime outlook starts. I have also tried to remove microsoft.net via add/remove programs and it also crashes. I can't reinstall either of these programs. I have manually deleted all folders relating to BCM and it still appears. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling office 2007 and the message still appears. It would appear that there is some major corruption but is there any way to completely wipe all traces of BCM and microsoft.net and start the reinstallation process again. Failing all of this i guess I will have to reformat the computer but I am hoping to avoid this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  • 4. Can't open BCM 2007 Trial
I downloaded the trial version of Office 2007, specifically to test the Business Contact Manager feature (thinking of using it instead of ACT). But, every time I try to download the program, it cannot install disk 2, which has BCM. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it three times and the same problem occurs. I get an error message is "computereze", but don't understand what the problem is. Without testing BCM, the program is useless to me.

You have to have Outlook 2007 with BCM. You cannot use BCM 2003 with Outlook
2007.

1.BCM 2003 not working after using BCM 2007

I installed BCM 2007 Beta2, but my dutch backup of the BCM 2003 data
was nog accepted (other language).. Together with other problems with
Office 2007 I decided to uninstall it completely. Then I reinstalled my
Office 2003 Pro. But now BCM 2003 isn't opening in Outlook anymore,
even after reinstalling it again.
Is there a workaround?

2.BCM-V2 (Outlook 2003 BCM SP3) TO BCM-V3 (Outlook 2007) Migration

I've got a two backups from my BCM-V2 SP3 installation :
A) Completed Export to BCM (From Outlook 2003)
B) Database Backup From MSSQL 2003 (Express Ed, or Whatever)

I Did a clean install (on Another WorkStation) of Office 2007, then install
Outlook BCM-V3 (Witch install MSSQL Express Ed 2005, and creates an empty
database)

I've follow two differents steps to try to make the migration :
A) Import BCM File (From my previous exported BCM (Outlook 2003)).
ERROR : Something like "Outlook can't make the last action", and nothing
append, another thing is that, I must kill outlook process to get rid of that
pop-up (Cancel and BACK buttons doesn't work)
B) Restore Database into MSSQL Express 2005:
It seams that this last step is the right one, but, when the process is in
the middle of the migration, it stops, and shows a pop-up with something like
"You're not allowed to restore database, plese contact the owner (my self) of
the database, before restore" (This is not the exactly msg, but the meaning
is the same)

My last chance, is to backup database, with password, and try to restore
again, and see what append. No other clue for me, any help ??

Thxs,

(Excuse my bad english))

3.Crash when doing anything with BCM in 2007

I am sharing a BCM database between just two computers. No problems with it
for 6 months at least. My partner's computer houses the database. I share
it -- but also work offline often too.

For some unknown reason, for the past few days, if I go to the Contacts pane
and click on Accounts or Business Contacts under the BCM group, I get an
instant crash to MS error reporting . I also get the crash if I choose BCM
Home.

Here's the initial contents screen of the error.

AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 12.0.6023.5000 AppStamp:46574050
ModName: mso.dll ModVer: 12.0.6017.5000 ModStamp:461db01f
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00045235

I'm absolutely lost. Can anyone help?

5.Upgrading to outlook 2007 BCM only leaving office 2003 working

Hi,

I have one PC with outlook 2003bcm and the other pc with outlook 2007bcm.
the database is on the pc with 2007bcm, am i right in saying that 2003bcm
will not connect to 2007bcm?

If so, can i upgrade just the outlook 2003bcm to outlook2007bcm without
upgrading the whole of office 2003.

I did try to connect 2003bcm to 2007bcm but got an error saying "the
database server on computer pc01 is inaccessible. Confirm that the remote
machine has business contact manager installed, that it is running..........

I did drop all firewalls and opened ports on my router but still the same
problem.

I have downloaded the trial version of office pro 2007 but do not want to go
ahead until i can confirm that it will not mess up the office 2003 that is
already installed.

Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.
