  • 1. NewMail and NewMailEx do not fire until script run manually
I've got code hooked up in the NewMailEx event in the VBA code window for Outlook. I cannot, however, seem to get this code to fire when Outlook is first launched. It appears as though my code isn't "loaded" or hooked up until I run the macro manually. Once I do that, any future emails that arrive fire the NewMailEx event. This is straight VBA code put in via the Outlook Macro Editor menu options. I'm not instantiaing any other instances of the Application or anything odd. Am I missing something here? I don't see any doc on how to get your VBA code to be called automatically. The examples I find all assume that it'll work. Is this a bug in Outlook 2003? Thanks for any help.
  • 2. Case# 7181 - End user need to add extra items in drop down menu.
Hi, I got an end-user with Outlook 2002. Problem was originally posted in Microsoft Partner Supportgroup, but was referrd to this place as it most likely needed a Programmable solution. Reply from previous group: ----------------- You want to add some items in the "Show time as" drop down menu in the new Outlook 2002 Calendar appointment. If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know. Unfortunately, the items in the "Show time as" drop down menu are hard-coded and we cannot add more items other than free/busy/Tentative/Out of Office. I am sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you. Regarding the current status, you can perform some coding to workaround this issue. However, since programming issues are not supported in the VAP Newsgroup, I suggest you post the thread to our development newsgroup. ---------------------- Is there any way that we can include an extra item to the drop down meny. I.e. with the text "Ferie". -- Brgds Bjrn
  • 3. How do I switch "sent from" if I have 2 inboxes?
I have access to 2 separate Outlook inboxes. I am using Microsoft Access to programatically send emails out, but I don't want them sent from my original (default) inbox that has my name. I want those sent from the other inbox. How do I make that switch? Thanks.... TF

Back-slashes in hyperlinks changed to Forward-slashes

Postby U2FsdHkgRG9n » Wed, 03 May 2006 03:34:02 GMT

<a href="ftp://Domain\Username: XXXX@XXXXX.COM " target=_blank>Direct
Login to FTP Site</a>

Links like above inside Outlook email message are tranlated to
forward-slashes only when clicked and therefore result in an error "server
not found".

Any suggestions on how to prevent this?

1.Mysterious changes in new hyperlink - backslash becomes forward slash

Existing hyperlinks work ok but news I try to create are changing their
formatting after I create them.

Correct file name displayed at time manual selection of target file (in a
subordinate directory called "testing") in "Edit hyperlink" window is:

testing\Quiz number 2.doc

After closing the "Edit window" when I try to activate the link I get error
msg "Cannot open specified file."

File name displayed upon reopening "Edit hyperlink" window is:

testing/Quiz%20number%202.doc

The backslash has mysteriously and all of sudden been converted to a
forwardslash.

Existing hyperlinks still work and opening and closing the "Edit hyperlink"
window doesn't cause this chage.

Help please.

Richard
