  • 2. Appointments Filter
In outlook, when creating/editing an appointment, you can specify a label for the appointment which assigns a colour and a custom name for that label. You can then chose to filter appointments which are displayed based on those labels. I'm aware the filtering process is done through the front end application but I was wondering if the unique label assignments are members of the Outlook._AppointmentItem object or whether outlook has a separate database to remember these label assignements. I would like to replicate this filtering process in my application. Any help would be great thanks :o)

  • 4. Autocomplete in To and BCC field fails after replacing HTMLBody
I have an addin that adds text and images to the body of an email. I am using Outlook 2003 and Windows XP. To add the text and images I copy the HTMLBody to a variable, make the changes then replace the HTMLBody with the contents of the variable. This keeps the email from flashing (very ugly and disconcerting for the end-user) as the information is added. However, after replacing the body the Autocomplete feature in the To, and CC fields no longer works. This only occurs when word is the editor. Is there any way to prevent the loss of this functionality? -- John Svercek

Outlook hangs at 100% CPU under certain conditions.

Postby TUFKIEFsZXggTGF3c29u » Thu, 17 Jun 2004 01:48:02 GMT

Problem:

Outlook hangs at 100% CPU under certain conditions.

Conditions:

Outlook operates as long as it is open. You can read messages via "double-clicking" on the message or using the "preview pane".

Outlook hangs when you try to close it. The icon remains at the bottom and if you look at task manager, Outlook is at 100%.

We have localized the problem to the opening of ANY email. We can open and close Outlook with no problems IF YOU DO NOT READ ANY EMAILS. As soon as your read one email, you are screwed when you close Outlook.

We insured that under "Tools" => "Options" => "Mail Format" and "Compose in this message format" is set to "Rich Text" and both checkboxes are "unchecked" for using Microsoft Word for anything.

PLEASE HELP!!! We are doing a state wide implementation and have not found a resolution. 30+ machines are experiencing this problem and we know more are soon to come.

2.Opening Calendar 'hangs' Outlook, CPU 100%

Hi,

has anyone experienced this? A week ago one of our users complained that his
calender made his Outlook 'hang' trying to add an appointment on a date past
December 9 2003.
System: Exchange 55-sp4 on NT4-sp6a, Outlook 2000 on client Win2000.
I noticed that all other functions in Outlook worked without any problems,
but trying to open or even look at any date past December 9 in his calendar
would freeze the PC (CPU 100%).
Logging into another workstation produced exactly the same problem. Opening
the calendar in my own Outlook (admin) produced the same problem.
Following several Technet articles I exported all data, deleted the mailbox,
created a new one and imported the data again. That didn't help.
Next I've tried with Easy Recovery Pro, results were quite drastic: almost
all data from the calender was removed, not just data after Dec. 9. Since
this user has scheduled lots of things way into 2004 this is not acceptable
to him.
Since Dec. 9, it's not even possible anymore to open the calendar, the
system will 'freeze' at once (again, CPU 100%)
This morning I tried my luck with scanpst.exe, which gave as result: no
problems found.
Since I'm not a very experienced Exchange/Outlook admin I hope someone can
help me further with any tips or hints what more I can do about this.
(posted this question also in ms.pub.outlook.calendaring)

Thanks,
Sjef

3.Outlook hangs with 100% cpu

I have a user who is having problems with Outlook 2002. He can open it
up ok but after a period of time it will start using 100% CPU and
hang. If he starts Outlook in safe mode he can use it ok.

Outlook is running on XP Pro and both have all updates, and service
packs etc.

The .pst file has been scanned but there was no problem there. The
.pst in stored on the local PC and Outlook does not use Exchange.
There are no third party plugins or anything installed in outlook.

Any suggestions

Tim

4.Outlook 2007 hang with 100% CPU utilization

I see a lot of people suffering this since Outlook 2000 but no reply from MS,
no KB article. Couldnt this be by design?

My Outlook is painfully hanging the system with 100% CPU utilization
everytime I try to preview the message on the reading pane. I observe that
Outlook.exe is using 100% CPU during this. It takes up to a couple of
minutes. Everything is clean install including XP and Office 2007. The only
thing comes to my mind is ACT! 2006 installation that may have created
anything causing this problem. I have uninstalled it but again the same
problem.

Any serious help rather than experimental solutions?

5.Outlook keeps hanging up-says loading dataset-using 100% CPU HELP

Right after installing office updates, my Outlook started crashing!
Everything is SUPER SLOW. When it starts, it says Files 1 of 2, data set
loading and just sits there.

It also says my Archive Folder didn't close properly! Don't know how to fix
that either! THanks.

7. Outlook 2002 slows, then hangs and CPU goes to near 100%
