NO error is reported but the mail is only downloaded from one of the accounts. Any ideas? thanks! Jahyen

Presuming your profile was set up properly - meaning, you're logged into the
domain with an account that has rights to that mailbox....
Can you ping the Exchange server by name (and get the FQDN in reply)?
AD DNS set up properly? As in, all servers and workstations should specify
*only* the internal AD-integrated DNS server's IP address in their network
settings. The AD-integrated DNS server should be set up with forwarders to
your ISP's DNS servers for external resolution. See

info.

2.Outlook.MaiIteml.Move: The RPC server is not available

Hi,

On the pc of one of my clients (W2000, Office 2003) I'm getting sometimes an
exception when moving (Move) a MailItem to an Outlook-Folder: The RPC server
is not available. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA). The client has all
the updates/service packs/ etc isntalled...

Does anybody has any idea why this happens? Any help our hints would be
really appreciated! what is that RPC server thing?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Pieter

This is what I do in my application (VB.NET 2005):
    Private oItem As Outlook.MailItem

    strStatus = "MOVE"

    If (oFolder.StoreID <> clsDocShared.GlobalDoc.MyOutlookFolder.StoreID)
Or (oFolder.EntryID <> clsDocShared.GlobalDoc.MyOutlookFolder.EntryID) Then

        'Move it to the right folder: StoreID

        strStatus = "MOVE1"

        oItem = oItem.Move(clsDocShared.GlobalDoc.MyOutlookFolder)

        strStatus = "MOVE2"

    End If

The whole exception:
The RPC server is not available. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)

4.SBS2000, Outlook Exchange server not available

We have SBS2000 and after installed SBS SP1 ready for
upgrade to SBS 2003, and upgrading one test PC to Outlook
2003, we started getting outlook.ost file not valid
errors.
Deleting the .ost file and letting Outllok 2003 recreate
the files still complained about the file it created not
being valid.
Deleting the Outlook mail Profile and recreating seemed
to fix this issue, THEN, this PC returns "Exchange server
not available or down for maintence" errors.
OWA works fine, indicating the IS and DIR must be OK.
There are NO errors in servers event logs. All services
stop and start normally. Outlook 2000 on the server can
open the administators mailbox and the test PC's users
mail box with no problems.
Testing on another PC via VPN tunnel, with a known
working Outlook 2000 PC, now has same results, Server
Unavailable.
I have used the RPC RPINGC/S utility to test RPC from/to
server and thats OK.
I dont understand that Outlook is running file on the
server but not across the LAN.
Have reinstalled SBS SP1, Exchange SP3, turned off ISA
and Routing, checked LAT and rounting. Server works fine
for all other functions.
Cant find the reason for this connectivity issue.
Reinstalled Outlook 2000 on test PC, and CAN connect to
exchange. Reinstall Outlook 2003 and same issue.
HELP! I dont have much hair left!

5.Run-time error 462 - server not available

I've written some automation code that open Word from
Access to format a Word documents with data from Access
tables. When I run the application the first time, the
code runs without any problem. The second time I try it,
I get a run-time "remote server unavailable" error.

I notice that if I press the reset button within the
Access development area, the error goes away. I use early
object binding and set the application object to nothing
on exiting. What causes this behavior?

Somehow the remote server is not shutting down.
