  • 1. Automating Outlook - Mail and Calendar
Hello all, We are migrating from Groupwise 5.5 to Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003. My group has created some Visual Basic programs that automate Groupwise for the purpose of creating and sending e-mail, posting personal appointments, and conducting "busy searches" on the Groupwise calendar. I've seen a lot of documentation floating around about the Outlook API, so I assume its fairly straight-forward to program similar functions from VB to Outlook. I was told that the calendar operations would have to go against the Exchange server - not Outlook. Is that correct? Or would calendar operations against Outlook eventually synchronize with the Exchange server? Thanks in advance, Robin

There is a way to disable the OE splash screen when OE first starts. Is there a way to disable the splash screen for Outlook (2000)?
  • 3. image loading problem (dns?)

Outlook 2000 hides new message window

Hi;
We are having an intermittent problem with some Outlook
2000 users .
When Outlook opens and they click open a message, or try
to create a new one, it stay hidden behing the main
outllok window - so it looks like it is not open - have to
minimize the main Outlook window to see it. Has anyone
encountered this problem and how was it resolved?
Thank you,

1.Why does Outlook hide my new message windows?

I am a new user to Outlook but I have noticed that when I click on New or
Reply to an email, my window hides behind my Inbox window. I have to
minimize my Inbox Window and click somewhere in my new message or reply to
activate it. Does anyone else have this problem?

2.New Message Windows hiding behind Outlook

I know a bunch of others are having a similar problem: With no apparent
change to my Outlook or desktop environment, new email windows, including
replies and forwards flash briefly in the foreground and then hide behind
Outlook.

Clearly this is a common problem, with no clear resolution. Is there any way
to escalate this to the appropriate support personnel?

Cheers

3.Checking for new messages progress window won't stay hidden

When I click on Sync All, OE shows a window with the download progress. Then I click on hide and try to do something else.
However, the window keeps reappearing periodically and interfering with what I am doing. Is there any fix for that condition?

5.reply/new message window very slow (Outlook 2000)

When I click on "New" for a new email message or "Reply"
to an existing message, the window takes 15+ seconds to
come up. A check of system resources shows 100% CPU usage,
while memory is fine. I also have McAfee installed, but it
does'nt seem to be causing any interference.

thanks!
