  • 1. Default Contacts Folder When Creating Task
OL2003 w/ BCM running on XP. When I create a task and select 'Contacts' on the bottom-left of the form it defaults to the regular Contacts folder. In order to specify a BCM contact I have to scroll down the folder list and select BCM Contacts, then select the actual contact I want. Is there a way so it defaults to the BCM Contacts folder, not the one in my normal .pst file? Thanks. Jim

  • 3. Missing Activities
Using the Activities tab, I often will review or search for email for a specific contact. Somewhere along the line, my Activities got lost or disconnected. I am only able to find a couple of email messages from contacts that I know I have dozens for. All my contacts exhibit the same deficit. I can find these missing messages by searching in the individual folders, so I know that they exist. I have gone into the Contacts|Properties|Activities and reviewed the settings there. There is a check on the "Personal Folders" and "search sub-folders" is also checked. I have never changed these settings, so they are set at the default. This resembles a missing or broken index problem. Is there any way to re-index my message file? Any ideas of how to solve this problem? I even used scanpst.exe. It found a errors and fixed them. However, the problem persists. Thanks in advance, Christopher

Assuming your entire question is in the Subject, the file you need is your
Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the mail, calendar, contacts
etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:

1.Master Category List same on different PCs

How do I get the Master Category List on my PC to appear on my associates PCs?
We're using MS Office 2003, Windows XP. We're using Microsoft Exchange Server.

The goal is to have our Contacts located on the public (MS Exchange) server
Categorized and seen by everyone in the office. But when I set up all my
Catagories on my computer, the Category list does not appear on other
computers.
Please advise. I've been trying to figure this out for a long time.

Thanks.

2.Linking a master contact list with distribution lists

MS outlook 2003 SP1 Office basic. I've created a master contact list for the
purpose of sending out newsletters. Not all entries have email and must be
mailed. I've created an email distribution list within the master list and a
separate contact list for the mail-outs. My ? is: Is it possible to link the
master contact list with the distribution and mailout lists so that they
automatically receive new additions to the master? What is the procedure for
sending email distribution lists? Anyone I can contact re: label print
quality issues with Prowrite? Many many thanks in advance

3.saving new contact & address in the contact list

I am having troulble saving new contact (name etc) in my contact list. I
follow the steps required however for some reason it doesn't save.

4.Need to find contacts under master list of "Contacts" & by "Catego

I have assigned a category to each of my contacts. The navigation panel
shows a heading of "Contacts"; then indented sub-headings show each of the
"categories". The contacts did not automatically "sort" into the sub-heading
categories, but I was able to drag & drop into the appropriate category.

Now, however, they do not appear in the "Contacts" list (the master list of
Contacts). I need to be able to find the contacts under "Contacts" in the
navigation panel AND in the specific catagories which appears under Contacts.

In other words, I want to be able to look up contacts under "Contacts" or
under the category assigned to that contact.

Thanks,
