    When using "Mark My Comments With" the editor automatically inserts [my username] as it should with no space in front of the insertion. If I'm using Word as my editor and run a spell check it thinks that I've misspelled because the inserted [username] is directly behind the word I added it to (no space). But If I'm using the built in Outlook editor then spell check it correctly recognizes that the Mark My Comments With insert is not part of the word it's connected to. Is there a way to fix this?

    Hi everyone, i need to send e-mails with links to folders on a network drive ( Q: ) with outlook 2007. I'd like to do this by copying the path from an open explorer window and pasting it in the body of my mail. This works fine as long as i access my folder via unc-path (e.g. \\server\share\folderXY). But if I use my connected network drive, outlook doesn't recognize this as link. So if i copy/paste something like q:\folderXY outlook does not convert this into a link. I know I could do this on my own, by right clicking and adding the link manually. However, I have to make my users do this, and everything that is more complicated than copy/paste will not work :-) Is there any way to bring outlook 2007 to treat paths starting with any (or a certain) drive letter similar to unc-paths? I could also live with a solution allowing my users to right click the folder in question and use a menu item from the context menu, e.g. opy as link allowing to paste it later into outlook as unc-path. In my environment both unc-path and network drive are accessible from every client, so both would work. I would strongly prefer any solution that allows us to use the network drive though. That is because users might be irritated from seeing an unc-path. To them the only known path is the one with the network drive. Thank you for your help!

Do I have to uninstall Outlook2000 before installing Outlook2002?

Should I uninstall Outlook 200 before installing Outlook 2002, and what
should I do prior to the upgrade to ensure that my emails and contatcs are
preserved?

You do not need to uninstall Outlook 2000. Installing Outlook 2002 will
automatically replace it and upgrade the data file as well.

However (as you should always do before any upgrade), I would recommend that
you backup your Outlook data file first.

...also, expect to create a new profile after you upgrade. It is rare for
the profile not to become corrupt when you upgrade, especially from IMO
mode.

1.Installing Outlook2002 with Outlook2000

I am trying to install and run both Outlook 2002 and
Outlook 2000 simultaneously. When I try to install the
newer version it tells me that I have no choice but to
uninstall the previous version. Is there anyway to run
them together. I won't have both clients open at the same
time, I just need to be able to run MAPI as well as SMTP
on the same workstation.

3.What is Outlook2000 doing after connect to Exchange?

I have big problems using Outlook 2000 towards our Exchange server
when I am connected through a VPN (W2000 RRAS) to our network.
What happens is that the Outlook Inbox window shows up after a short
delay, but then it becomes nonresponsive and displays an hourglass for
hours (I have tested again today and gave up after 2 hours). I can see
all of my inbox message subjects (now about 30 of them) but I can do
nothing with them...

In the connection icon in system tray I can see that a lot of traffic
is exchanged, after 2 hours about 8 Mb has been sent both ways and
Outlook is still showing the hourglass....

I am running Outlook 2000 SP1 as a client, the server is Exchange 5.5
on W2000 server with all service packs applied. I connect through a
VPN tunnel via Internet and the RRAS service on the connection server.
On my end I have a 500 kbps ADSL connection to Internet.

About a year ago it was possible to connect, at that time the delays
were only some minutes.
Now it is unbearable and I really want to know what is happening, is
anyone else experiencing something similar and can share knowledge?
What data are being sent back and forth????
How can I find out?

4.Uninstalling word Add-in does not remove any UI changes done by Ad

Hi,
   I have a word add-in written in VS 2005 using the Shared Add-in project.
Through the add-in I am placing a simple button on the standard toolbar. The
button shows up on the standard toolbar appropriately.
Now when I uninstall the add-in, the button does not get removed.

I am creating the button object in the OnStartUpComplete event handler as
follows:

                   object omissing = System.Reflection.Missing.Value;
                    MyButton =
(CommandBarButton)oStandardBar.Controls.Add(1, omissing, omissing, omissing,
true);
                    MyButton.Caption = "My button";
                    MyButton.Style = MsoButtonStyle.msoButtonCaption;

And I am disposing the button object in the OnBeginShutDown event handler as
follows:
            object omissing = System.Reflection.Missing.Value;
            MyButton.Delete(omissing);
            MyButton = null;
            ((WORD.Application)applicationObject).NormalTemplate.Save(); //
I came through some posting which suggested adding this line, but it did not
help.

The button does not get deleted. Am I missing some thing here?

Thanks!
Karthik
