I have Outlook 2007 accessing POP3 mail at work but leaving messages on the server. When the mail downloads I will get, for example, 30 emails pumped into the unk mailfolder. This is great! At home, because my work Outlook does not download from the server, I download my messages from the POP3 server and all the same messages end up in my inbox folder instead of junk mail folder. I have compared Tools | Options | Junk Mail settings on both and they are identical. I have the latest security patches from Microsoft Download. I suspect there might be a hidden registry setting that might be different on my home machine. I have had Outlook 2007 running on the home machine since 2007 came out. I recently built a new computer at work and loaded on Outlook within the last two weeks. Any thoughts? Thanks! Stan
  • 2. Outlook 2007 bug with User defined Message format preferences
Approximately a month ago, (users cannot remember when exactly) Outlook 2007 stopped saving user preferences for Message Format. Users seem to think that is related to updates being installed for Outlook 2007 but I have not been able to verify this yet. What I have been able to verify is that when a user goes to Tools > Options> Mail Format and changes the Message format to "plain text" that the change does not stick after a logoff or reboot. I have confirmed that this is happening on various workstations regardless of user privelages. Please help as this is affecting senior management users. Thank you.
  • 3. Problems sending emails to everyone using a sattelite connection
I have Internet connection via a sattelite antenna. I use MS Outlook 2003. I can receive email from anyone, but can only send to those who has email account with my Internet provider. In order to send to the other using MS Outlook 2003 I have to connect to my Internet service provider by phone. Question: What do I have to do so I can send email to anyone with MS Outlook 2003 using only my sattelite connection and not the phone? This is the error message I get freely translated to English: The following recipients coud not be found. (No se puede localizar a los destinatarios siguientes: xxx) Sincerely, Jan Nordgreen
  • 4. Outlook 2007 Received Messages Assignments
I am running Office 2007, e.g. Outlook 2007 with XP-PRO. In the past I've had problems with duplicate messages and have mostly corrected them by cleaning out the "rules" folder and making certain that there is only one pair of rules for each correspondent (send and receive). I've also checked on the effect of my anti-virus program (AVG), and found that it seems not to have been the problem. Now I have one remaining problem: Rather than landing in the Inbox folder, many messages seem to default to a folder I established for one of my clients. This is the only folder thus affected. Is there a solution? If necessary, how do I go about saving the message that went correctly to the client's folder if it is necessary to delete the folder and related rules?

What causes Outlook to shutdown whenever I minimize it?

Postby U3ViaWVkb29v » Tue, 05 Apr 2005 02:07:03 GMT

About a month ago I noticed that when I minimize Outlook, the program
completely shuts down. I've tried all I know to do short of completely
reinstalling the program to correct this problem. I don't recall this
occuring before I downloaded either a Windows or a Office 2003 Update but I
don't recall which, I just do thime routinely. Has anyone experienced
anything similar to this? Thanks.

I doubt it is shutting down.
Look at your system tray. If you set it to minimize to the system tray,
that's what it will do.

Russ - Thanks! It also really does help to ensure that "Hide When Minimized"
isn't checked in the system tray. It's hard to believe all the time I've
spent woking on this problem off and on over the last few weeks. Thanks so
much for taking the time to get me pointed in the right direction.

1.Minimized Word doc.reopens whenever I (re-)open another Word doc

Hi,

Whenever I boot-up a Windows session, the first MS Word document I
open is my Log.doc. Usually I keep it minimized. However, it seems
whenever I open any other Word doc., my Log doc. reopens, which
reduces my machine's performance. Is there any way I can defeat Log's
behavior?

Thanks in Advance,

2.Outlook Connector causes Outlook 2007 to not shutdown

I have had this problem with Outlook 2007 not shutting down for a long time,
but recently, through the process of elimination, I have found that it is
being caused by one of my Hotmail accounts, through the Outlook Connector.

The actual problem is that Outlook does not exit properly. If I close it,
the process can still be seen in Task Manager. When I try to shut down the
machine, I get a message saying that Outlook will not shut down, and I need
to force it to close. This means that sometimes Outlook needs to check the
message store when I start it up again.

This does not happen when I remove the larger of my two Hotmail accounts,
although I am unsure if it is only that one account that causes the problem.

Does anybody know how I can stop this from happening?

Cheers

ss.

3.Should Outlook2003 Auto shutdown when minimized!

I have recently installed Office 2003 w/all appropriate service packs and
updates. If I have the application open and click the icon in the task pane
at the bottom of the screen to the right of "Start", the application will
close. Should this happen?

4.Attaching file in Outlook Express causes program shutdown

Can anyone help with this?

I use Outlook Express as my normal email program. Sending and receiving
emails works fine, but if I attempt to attach a file, after I hit the
paperclip icon it begins to open a new screen using Windows Explorer, then
immediately both that screen and my Outlook Express program and screen shuts
down. The email isn't sent, nor sent to the draft folder, it just quits.

I'm able to attach and send files using my yahoo mail account, but this is a
hassle as I'd like people to be able to respond directly to my main account.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

5.Outlook Error causing shutdown

I am using Outlook 2000 here at work and have been
encountering a strange error message. I am able to run
Outlook and get to my Inbox, but when I click on a
specific email to read it pops up with the following error
message and then shuts down.
The error message reads: "OUTLOOK.exe has generated errors
and will be closed by Windows. You need to restart the
program. An error log has been created."

I tried searching for the error log, but had 0 luck
finding anything that was readable. I know the error
message is pretty generic and does not indicate what might
be the problem. This computer was infected with a large
amount of spyware, which is when the problem arised, but
since then the spyware has been removed and Outlook worked
properly. But after using it only once and shutting it
down and reopening, it began to give me the error message
again. I am lost to what I need to do next and would
appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks for taking
the time to help
