Outlook 2003 closes after a few seconds/minutes
by amV1dGl4 » Wed, 08 Nov 2006 06:34:02 GMT
Hi!
Outlook 2003 on XP Pro (both english) with actual SPs.
I start Outlook, it loads and after a half or one minute it closes without
any warning or error message. Nothing in event viewer.
If I start it again the file would be repaired automatically with Outlook
mechanism.
No Outlook process in TaskManager after close. I have one profile installed
(Outlook).
I had this error a few weeks ago (re-install or repiar didn't help) and made
up a new profile with a new pst-file, moved all my mails/contacts etc. and it
worked for a while, but this evening it happens again :-(
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!!

Found the solution:
The openBC-Outlook-Plugin is causing the failure. I uninstalled it and
Outlook is running well.

1.Outlook 2003- pauses for a few seconds every few keystrokes
Hi- this problem is making Outlook unusable for me. It happens with both my
Windows XP machine and Vista laptop, using the same data on both machines
(but not the same PST file- I synced twice with my Palm. I notice that the
PST file is only a few megabytes, however, so it's small when the problem
happens. In addtion, I tried deleting everything and starting from the
beginning, just loading up one part of Outlook at a time to see where the
problem is-- seems like it occurs when I start approaching around 300
contacts (I have about 500 contacts total), or as I ramp up my calendar
entries. With no data, no problem.
This whole thing is so frustrating to me. I tried a trial version of Chaos
Intellect to see if I would have a problem with that as well-- no problem,
imports my full last of contacts and calendar entries.
I really want and need to use Outlook- anyone have any suggestions? I would
greatly appreciate the feedback! Thanks.

3.Outlook 2007 opens then closes a few seconds later
Outlook 2007 seems to open normally then closes after 2 or 3 seconds. I've
run the repair function on the program disk. OS is Vista Business Edition
4.Outlook 2003 crashes within a few minutes of use
I just set up my new computer running WinXPMediaCenter with an Athlon 64
3500+ processor running 2048 MB of RAM. I moved over my data before moving
over my programs (I thought I could move both at the same time). My 2003
Outlook email program repeatedly crashes after using it for a few minutes or
activities. I uninstalled the following programs that I was using that I
thought may be causing a conflict (Google Toolbar, Plaxo, Quirb). The problem
persists anyway. What else should I do?
