  • 3. can't see new mail body or send mail
Hi, I have XP Home SP2 (if it matters). When I open OE, I get all my mail downloaded, as I should, but when I open the mail, I see the header info but no body/message text. I can click on properties and see the source, but that isn't helpful. When I hover my cursor over the preview pane, it has the pointer with an hourglass. When I create new mail to send, I can type in the email address I'm sending to and a subject, but when I try to type the body of the message, I can't even get the cursor to appear in the window (again, the mouse cursor just shows the arrow and the hourglass, but only when hovering over the body of the email). When I try to hit send, I get a message that "outlook has not finished downloading this message". That makes no sense because this is a message I'm creating. Help please!!!
  • 4. Problem sending attachments
Hi Two of our staff members have tried to send an e-mail with an attachment to another staff member. The message appears to send ok, no error messages come up and the message is in the sent items The weird thing is that when other people send the same attachment to the same person it works I have checked the recipients end to see if any rules are in place to move messages from specific senders to another location but there are no rules in place, and I have checked other folders and the e-mail is not there at all Does anyone have any ideas Thanks Olivi

Outlook 2003 closes after a few seconds/minutes

Postby amV1dGl4 » Wed, 08 Nov 2006 06:34:02 GMT

Hi!

Outlook 2003 on XP Pro (both english) with actual SPs.

I start Outlook, it loads and after a half or one minute it closes without
any warning or error message. Nothing in event viewer.

If I start it again the file would be repaired automatically with Outlook
mechanism.

No Outlook process in TaskManager after close. I have one profile installed
(Outlook).

I had this error a few weeks ago (re-install or repiar didn't help) and made
up a new profile with a new pst-file, moved all my mails/contacts etc. and it
worked for a while, but this evening it happens again :-(

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!!

Found the solution:

The openBC-Outlook-Plugin is causing the failure. I uninstalled it and
Outlook is running well.

1.Outlook 2003- pauses for a few seconds every few keystrokes

Hi- this problem is making Outlook unusable for me. It happens with both my
Windows XP machine and Vista laptop, using the same data on both machines
(but not the same PST file- I synced twice with my Palm. I notice that the
PST file is only a few megabytes, however, so it's small when the problem
happens. In addtion, I tried deleting everything and starting from the
beginning, just loading up one part of Outlook at a time to see where the
problem is-- seems like it occurs when I start approaching around 300
contacts (I have about 500 contacts total), or as I ramp up my calendar
entries. With no data, no problem.

This whole thing is so frustrating to me. I tried a trial version of Chaos
Intellect to see if I would have a problem with that as well-- no problem,
imports my full last of contacts and calendar entries.

I really want and need to use Outlook- anyone have any suggestions? I would
greatly appreciate the feedback! Thanks.

3.Outlook 2007 opens then closes a few seconds later

Outlook 2007 seems to open normally then closes after 2 or 3 seconds. I've
run the repair function on the program disk. OS is Vista Business Edition

4.Outlook 2003 crashes within a few minutes of use

I just set up my new computer running WinXPMediaCenter with an Athlon 64
3500+ processor running 2048 MB of RAM. I moved over my data before moving
over my programs (I thought I could move both at the same time). My 2003
Outlook email program repeatedly crashes after using it for a few minutes or
activities. I uninstalled the following programs that I was using that I
thought may be causing a conflict (Google Toolbar, Plaxo, Quirb). The problem
persists anyway. What else should I do?
