I can not download e-mails in either Outlook Express (Windows XP Service Pack 2) or Outlook 2003. It seems as if it is stuck on message 1 of 42. After about 10 or 15 minutes of receiving I get an error message that reads ask op.starpower.net Receivingreported error (0x800CCC0F): he connection to the server was interrupted. I have checked my e-mail account settings and they are all correct. If I go to a webmail site I can access and download my e-mail. Need help. Dhr

wrong email address in from field

Postby ZHNwcnQ0aGVscA » Thu, 17 Aug 2006 14:57:02 GMT

Hi--I'm desperate, please help!
I have five email addresses set up in my Outlook 2003.
When I first set it up I did not have the following problem, but lately it's
been crashing about once a week and I just noticed this problem:

No matter which email address someone writes to, my reply is sent from only
one email address. I am involved in three separate businesses, so even though:
A) BusinessA is my default
B) I always specify which account the email should be from
C) The program is supposed to reply from the same account address as it was
addressed to
...BusinessC address is the ONLY address in the "from" field. Of course,
that happens to be the account with the crappiest email server!

I have a feeling my Outlook 2003 is corrupt. Any ideas?
In the mean time, I am going to continue to receive via Outlook, yet send
via webmail sites.

Thank you in advance. I trust you people more than I do MS!
Liza.

Is your Outlook fully up-to-date?
Set the other accounts to use authentication for the outgoing mailserver and
try again.

2.Mail merged fax field creates wrong TO: address format in outlook

OS: WinXP sp-1
E-mail: Outlook 2002 sp-2
WP: Word 2002 sp-2
Task: Word doc mail merge to Fax with WinXP fax.

Following ms workaround, I use the mail merge to e-mail
feature. The fax number is merged from an external source
in the [fax: 12345] format (tried to use excel and access
as the supporting storage for the db but net effect is
the same.
E-mail is created OK.
E-mail is not sent and is returned as indeliverable.
E-mail is sent to FAX: 12345 in the TO: field.
If you check the recipient address properties that was
automatially created though it is wrongly built.
You have, following the example:
Display name: FAX: 12345 and this is wrong !
E-mail address: FAX: 12345 and this is wrong!
E-mail Type: FAX and this is correct.

If I manually remove the "FAX: " part of the e-mail
address it goes flawlessly but I cannot do it for 2000
faxes I would like to merge fax.

Have you got a clue ???
Thanks for your help.

3.Defaulting to wrong address in 'From' field

Hi, i have a small problem that i hope someone can help me figure out.

It is this;

Although i have the correct default address set in Accounts, for some reason
whenever i reply to someone (who has sent it to my default account) it
always wants to use another account, in the 'From' field.

It's not a huge problem, it's a case of checking and changing before i hit
send, but of course, sometimes i forget. It'd be nice to work out why it's
doing it and fix it.

i'm using Outlook Express 6 and iE 7 (tho it did it before i installed iE 7
so i don't think it's that) and running XP Pro SP2 (updated).

Many Thanks!

4.Right Address in Contact, Wrong Address on Email

Outlook 2000

Recently I've been having a problem with Outlook sending messages to the
wrong address, even though the address in the Contact is correct. Here's
the background on this problem.

About 2 months ago one of my friends changed ISPs. So I edited the Contact,
removed the old address, and entered the new address. I made sure the old
address is completely gone from the Contact (Email 2 and Email 3 are both
blank). When I open the Contact I see that the correct address--the new
address--is listed.

When I compose a new message I simply type the name in the To field and it
resolves to the Contact information. If I right-click the name in the To
field I get a message saying that the Contact is no longer valid. If I send
the message anyway, I get a bounce message back from my ISP saying that the
message was undeliverable. Here's the weird part, the bounce message from
my ISP shows the *old* address for my friend.

So I figured that one of two things is happening. 1) There is a problem
with the Contact. I deleted the Contact and built a new one from scratch.
That did not solve the problem. 2) When the name in the To field resolves
to the Contact, it is actually pointing to an old Outlook file that contains
the old Contact. and therefore the old address. So I searched the hard
drive for files containing the old address, and I deleted all of those
files. That did not fix the problem either.

Short of reinstalling Outlook, can anyone suggest some other possible
solutions?

5.Full Name field posts first name and last name in wrong fields

When entering a new contact, I type the first and last names into the Full
Name field and it posts them in the opposite fields. e.g. I enter John Smith
in the Full Name field and when I click on the Full Name button to open the
Check Full Name window, it displays First: Smith and Last: John. If I
correct it, the display in the Full Name field changes to "Smith John".
