Exporting Journal entries to Excel

Postby TGlzYSBXaGl0ZQ » Sat, 08 Nov 2008 13:25:01 GMT

I am trying to figure out if there is a character limit in the journal entry.
I have just started using Journal entries for my contacts - I need to be able
to export them to Excel to present as a report, but when I do - the Notes
section (the meat of the Journal) is cut off - I don't see consistency in
where my notes are cut off - I've tried expanding the cell in Excel,
selecting Wrap text, etc and it appears that it's not grabbing my entire Note
from the Outlook Journal. Any ideas?

I think it exports up to 255 characters.

1.Export of Journal Entries to Excel file

Hello,

Am wondering how/if it is possible to export outlook journal entires to an
excel file by specific date? On my version (Office OutLook 2003 SP3) of
outlook there is an import/export function however there seems to be no
function to designate specific journal dates. The results of the export are
that ALL the journal entries are sent to excel then I have to sort in excel.
Would like the ability to filter/designate journal exports to excel by
specific date....any suggestions would be great.

What I am trying to accomplish is tracking project data within jounal and
want to manipulate specific date sensitive data in excel using fore noted....

Thanks

2.Export Journal entries and/or activities list to excel

Is there any way to export selected journal entries or the activities list to
excel, or some other way to manipulate the order of these items? The fields
in field chooser allows me to order them in all sorts of ways but not to just
move them around so that they are in the order I want them in.

3.Journal Entries (viewing journal entries)

Hi all,

I use Journal Entries in Outlook all the time, but I am having issues
viewing these Entries in Outlook 2007.

I create a Journal Entry against a Contact and Close & Save it. When I
choose to view all my Entries (I open Contact, click on the Activities tab,
which defaults to "Show All Items". For whatever reason, it does not Display
my Journal Entries.

I know that the Entries are there as I either create a dumby entry and all
of a sudden it shows all of my Entries, or sometimes I close Outlook and
re-open it, and once again, it shows all of my Entries.

I then close a Contact and when I clilck the Activities tab again, no
Entries are Displayed.

Can anyone assist me with this prob?

Cheers,
Michael

4.Duplication in journal entries / journal entries not tracked

Hi all,
I use Outlook 2003 as a client for Exchange Server and the my problem
is:
* I double click the entry from the journal
* A new window opens with the link to the e-mail message
* I double click in this link in order to open the e-mail
* I click in Mail in the Navigation Pane
* I click again in Journal in the Navigation Pane and the entry is
duplicated!
I can repeat this procedure up to 6 times and the entry will repeat
itself in journal up to 6 times.

Another question:
Why some contacts keep their incoming messages tracked automatically in
Journal and others don't?
I've checked everything (Journal Options, e-mail addressess...) and
it's OK.
The curious thing about is that for those that Journal doesn't track
automatically their incoming messages, it tracks automatically the ones
that I send to them!.
Any help for these problems would be very appreciated
