Outlook freezes while typing names into TO field.

I have Outlook 2002 running on Windows 2000. All products up to date. Recently, Outlook is freezing requiring a restart after the third letter is typed into the "To" field while composing a message. I've had to turn off "Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields". What's going on? Can't find anything written about this problem

1.Full Name field posts first name and last name in wrong fields

When entering a new contact, I type the first and last names into the Full
Name field and it posts them in the opposite fields. e.g. I enter John Smith
in the Full Name field and when I click on the Full Name button to open the
Check Full Name window, it displays First: Smith and Last: John. If I
correct it, the display in the Full Name field changes to "Smith John".

2.Outlook 2003-Failing remember name when typing into the To: field

I just got Outlook 2002 and I was informed that when you send a message and typing in the To: field that if
you have emailed someone before it would remember the name. For example: If I send an email to Shawn Hedrick
the next time I send one I would only have to type maybe the first few letter and then it would prefill the
rest. Does anyone know about this or how to set this up?

3.Outlook XP - won't reconize names from the contact when typed in the "to" field

I am using Outlook XP. When I open a new email and type in the name of
someone that I know is in my contacts, it doesn't reconize the name.

I view the list and go into contacts, they are all there.

While in the new email I hit the "to" button and drop down the menu
option to the "contacts" option, there is nothing there.

4.Outlook 2003 typing in "to" field doesn't bring up names in contac

On my computer with Outlook 2003 when I go to create a new email - as soon as
I start to type a name in the To field it shows all the names that begin with
that letter - and the more of the name I type the more of the specific name
it selects

but on my wife's computer with outlook 2003 hers doesn't do that and she has
to click to select the names from a list.

How do I fix hers so it works like mine ?

5.When typing in a name in the "To" field

When typing in a name in the "To" field, Outlook usually
either resolves the name, or puts a red squiggly line
under the name for other suggestions. This feature does
not happen. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
