Pam, can you please be more specific where this 'commands' is located? I've looked all thru the 'drop downs' and am not seeing it.

When I open a document in Word 2007, if I type 2008 and hit enter it automatically enters today's date in the format 2008-06-30 (for example). How do I turn this off? I work with numbers a ton and this is very frustrating.
  • 4. lock font size on a protected document
Two questions: 1. My font is set at arial 10 for most of the document. When it is unprotected it comes in as such. Once i protect it, it becomes times new roman 12. I've checked everything at it all matches up. 2. I want to be able to insert pictures on a protected document, the only way I know how to do this is change the editing restrictions to comments only. When I do that, the form check boxes do not work anymore and the text form fields are invalid. Can I have two different editing restrictions for one document?
  • 5. Where is Insert 'Filename and Path', found in old Office version?
It used to be available in the Insert drop down menu in the Office 2003 version of Word. Where can I find it now? or is it now available anymore. If not available, how best do you put a "physical" name on the document so that you know what you named it--as it would print out on the bottom of any so-named document that you created.

I made a sign in word. I clicked print, the properties. Changed to
landscape, but it will not print that way. I resized text, but that did not
help. I finally put it in a text box anf turned my text 90 degrees. Is
there another way?

Use Page Setup from the File menu to set the orientation of your document.

Change the Document to Landscape rather than the Printer default. I know
some applications look to the printer but Word overrides it according to
what is in the document.

Under File > Page Setup > Margins tab > Orientation section there are two
buttons - select the Landscape one and press OK.

You can open the Page Setup dialog by double-clicking the edge of the
horizontal ruler, but see

on restoring the lost menu command.
