File View Order

  • 1. Reviewers - changing name of reviewer
My documents show a reviewer name that I don't know; my only guess is it is the name of a tech who worked on or set up the computer. I've put my name in the "User Information" but it still uses the other names as the name of the reviewer when I make changes to the document. I tried making a change through visual basis, but in visual basic the document uses my name, the other name doesn't show at all and doesn't come up in a search. Any ideas?
  • 2. Adding a small form with locked fields to an existing doc?
I am trying to add a form with 5 checkbox items to an existing Word document. One of them will also have a text box to add a detailed answer. However, once I create the form and lock it to protect the fields the whole page is locked. So I can't copy just that form text and paste it into another document. Is there a way to do this?
  • 3. Saving existing files in a different format
How do I save or vonvert a Word file to an EPI vector file or 300 dpi jpg file?
  • 4. My toolbar buttons have stopped responding, they are unusable?
the buttons on my toolbar and the drop down menus are very light and unusable...does anyone know why? or how to fix this problem?
  • 5. Printing envelopes on a differnt printer
At work I print most of my documents on a network printer away from my desk. I have a small printer at my desk to be used only for envelopes. Every time I print an envelope I have to go into File, then Print, and change printers. Then if I forget to change back to my default printer - well if my boss only knew how many enveloped I have wasted! Is there a way to set it up to print all envelopes to my desk printer without manually changing printers everytime??? Any help would be appreciated.

When I open folder in Word, I would like files to show with latest date on
top- universally. My Word 2003 defaults to earliest date. How to change?

Also, in detail view how to change universal default for what shows, e.g.
type, size, etc.

While the dialog is in Detail view, click the header of the Modified column
(the dates). Each click there reverses the date sort order. There's a faint
gray triangle that shows the sort direction.

To change which columns are shown, right-click any of the column headers and
check the items in the dropdown, or click More to get a dialog with
additional choices. In my quick test, it appears that this selection of
columns will appear in all Office programs.

Jay, thanks for quick response. I know how to change these things. Question
is how to make them defaults next time I open that folder or any other folder
in Word so I don't have to go through this exercise every time I open a
folder? Regards. forsyte

Ordinarily these settings are saved from session to session (but changes you
make elsewhere can affect the display in all Explorer windows).

2.view files and folders in date modified order

Have just upgraded Office 2003. When retrieving files I use the "details"
setting and was able to see and sort the folders first then show the
documents in latest date modified order underneath. Now, if I click the
header to sort into this date order, the folders will go to the end of the
list of documents rather that stay at the top.
Any ideas?
