  • 1. hyperlink file paths
I'm using Word 2000 with an XPHome system. I'm trying to create a travelogue of a recent trip on a CD. There are a number of JPEG images on the CD, and I want to write a word document, also to be stored on the CD, with hyperlinks to those pictures. The potential problem is that my CD drive is E:. Most CD drives are D:. I'm assuming that if I send out copies of this CD to friends, the links won't work. Is there a way to alter the hyperlink paths so that they will point to the root of the CD, regardless of what letter it's designated? Or, is it simply a matter of changing the filepaths for all the hyperlinks so they begin with D: instead of E:? Any help appreciated!

  • 3. Changing paper sizes causes error.
I am using Word 2003 with XP professional, 2002, SP2. The printer is a Kyocera KM-1815. When printing an Avery label, #5202, which is a 4" X 6" page with seven 3 7/16" X 11/16" labels, everything is ok. If I then start or load a different document with a full size sheet of 8 1/2" X 11" paper, the print preview proportions are not correct. The 4" X 6" format is not reset back to an 8 1/2" X 11" paper size. When you go to page setup, it does say 8 1/2" X 11" but when you try to print it, you get an error message: "The margins of section 1 are set outside the printable area of the page. Do you want to continue?" If you answer yes, it then resets the margins back to 4" X 6". One way to correct this problem is to close Word including Outlook and restart both programs. Is there a better way to fix this problem? Please note that the problem only happens if the actual 4" X 6" page was initially printed. Thanks for your reply.
  • 4. WordStar files and Office 2003
Back when I used Office 2000 there was a converter available that I could use to convert WordStar files to Word format. Apparently there is no such converter available for 2003. I guess I should have converted all those files back then before I upgraded. Does anyone have a solution to my problem? Thanks in advance!
  • 5. Remove foreign language formatting markups?
I have a user who works in an international marketing group. She gets some documents that were formatted in other languages for which the Track Changes feature was enabled. When she chooses to accept all changes before sending the document to a client (so that the editing markups won't be available), she still sees some comments pointing to sections of the document that were formatted in another language. For example, they will appear as "Format: French", etc. How can we remove those markup annotations so that the final recipient of the document does not see them?

3.Hmmm... Keystroke ceases to be

So I finally managed to get back to English (US) as my default, and
reconstruct my Toolbar just the way I want it.

Only now I discover the keystrokes I used to navigate to the top or the
bottom of a document no longer work.

I don't know what they're called on an English physical keyboard (I Use
a FRench Canadian one), but I'm pretty sure the bottom of the document
key is called "End." (It's "Fin"on mine).

It's not a huge deal, but I am in the habit of using those two keys --
and they still work in other apps.

I looked under Customize Keyboard, but couldn't see an obvious command
for Go To Beginning of Document or Go To End of Document.

All input welcome. TIA.
