  • 3. Insert a bookmark field
I am trying to insert a bookmark field in a document template. The template I will use in a Delphi program. I am confused how I should Insert such a field. The help is nog clear to me. It says: ============================================================ Insert a bookmark field To print the information assigned to a bookmark by an ASK or SET field, you must insert a bookmark field in the main document where you want Microsoft Word to print the information. In the main document, click where you want Word to print the information. Press CTRL+F9 to insert a pair of field characters ({ }). Between the field characters, type the name of the bookmark you defined in the SET or ASK field. If the bookmark name is also the name of a Word field, type REF before the bookmark name; for example, { REF Title }. ============================================================ I am confused about what should be: "the bookmark you defined in the SET or ASK field". Should I do something before entering ctrl-f9'myfieldname'? If I open the document template I get the error message: "Error! Bookmark not defined" At the exact place I wanted to put my bookmark field. Thanks in advance.

Tracked Changed in Word XP

Postby Abby » Thu, 12 Feb 2004 03:55:48 GMT

I want to be able to make tracked changes a permanent part
of my document(by not accepting or rejecting anything) and
leaving all the underlining and bracketing. I also want
to change the color of the tracked changes to black. Is
there a way to do this or it is just a matter of leaving
the document in the view: ORIGINAL SHOWING MARKUP?

Thank you.

Well, the Tracked are a permanent part of the document...until you accept or reject them
You can set all the colors to black back going to Tools|Options and changing the color options for Insertions, Deletions, etc. and switching them all to Black
YOu might considercopying the whole document and pasting it into one that does not have Track Changes Enabled. This seems to switch all the text to Auto without have to do the above steps. If it doesn't, use the Paste Options button to match destination formatting

1.Track Changes in Word XP (2002)

Hi, I have Word 2002 and I use Track changes on a regular basis. I used to
remember that there was an option to accept Track Changes on the Tool drop
down menu of Word 2002. I am using Word 2002 and I don see the option on
the drop down menu under Tools. Am I wrong in believing that the drop down
used to contain the option to except changes? If the menu does allow you to
have the Accept option under the Tools menu, can someone tell me how to place
the option on my version of Word?

2.Track Changes in Word XP

Multi-page document has Track Changes turned on and the
balloons turned off. However, when the document is
printed, the text is shrunk as if the balloons were
printing (but they are not printed). AND if just one page
is printed, the page prints fine (it is not an option to
print the documents one page at a time). FYI, the printer
drivers were recently updated (to solve another printing
issue) and this problem is still occuring. Any help would
be most appreciated. Thx ~~ Jennifer

4.Track Changes After Save Changes Tracking Word 2003

This is an odd problem that one of the attorneys brought to my attention and
I must find a resolution. I am extremely well-versed regarding Word but this
one has me stumped.

Example:
Attorney will open an existing document, turns track changes on, and type
several lines of text (Call is TextA). He can go back and edit those lines
of text without deletions showing up as deletions. However, once he saves
the document, and goes back to edit the lines of text he just inserted
(TextA), any deletions he makes now show up as new deletions (strikethrough
text).

Any suggestions on how to avoid this from occurring (other than not saving!
:) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

5.Track Changes (XP) - Colour Change

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me. A user wanted to track some changes with
one colour with their details displaying and other changes in another colour.
I suggested she change the User Details for word to do this but when she has
emailed the document out the other party has said the all the User details
have disappeared and it just says Unknown and the Date when you hover over
the changes and they have all turned to grey - any ideas?

Cheers

Debbie
