I want to use a Table Of Contents as a course outline and I want to remove the TOC style attributes. I would want the individual lines to not be linked to all other lines. Also, I want to remove the hyperlink feature from all lines, not just doing it a line at a time. Thanks

I'm using 2003 XP and in Outlook, using the HTML format and "use Word to edit and read" email. There are Adobe Toolbars that won't come off, no matter how many times I remove it, and the reviewing and mail merge toolbar won't stay. Also, if i change the position of the toolbars, that doesn't hold either. This is a new computer that came with the software preinstalled. Thanks for your help.

when Word 2002 is open and I use the "Open" icon to search for documents - the response for the search window which I use to navigate to my document is very slow to open. However if Word is open and I right click on start > explorer ...to navagite to and open a document, the response is much faster. I do not experience this problem when using Excel or Powerpoint. I beleive I have narrowed the problem to the slow responding "Open" folder icon at the top of the word window. I have reinstalled the entire office suite and the same problem exists. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Polarbear

Thanks morgancreative,

I am using "Find" at times, and "Find" / "Replace" at other times, and it
still does not work. I will try again. Could it be that the software may not
have been properly or fully installed?

Thanks,

Artrinsic

Copy an example of the double spaces and paste it into the Find prompt.

I suspect that at some stage you have obtained that text from a browser. A
browser expresses double spaces as two different characters: a non-breaking
space followed by a space.

If you search for {space}{space} you will not find {nbspace}{space}. If you
search for {nbspace}{space} you will.

It's difficult to tell the difference by eye, but if you click your
Show/Hide button and perhaps increase the Zoom magnification a little, you
will see that the two characters are differently rendered on screen.

Cheers

In my copy of Word, searching for {space}{space} DOES find {nbspace}{space}.
Did you actually try this before you posted, John?

Does the formating of a document have any effect on the search?
