Hi, lionheart. Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus. See http://www.**--****.com/ "How to use Office programs with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for more information.
1."save as" dialogue - cannot select directories in left panel of dialogue box
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel 1. Receive a mail message in Entourage with a Word document attached, Word not running at the time; 2. Double click the attachment, Word launches, opens doc; 3. Select "File.Save As...." Default directory is "Saved Attachments." Click a directory on the left pane, and the selection does not occur, i.e., the target directory remains "Saved Attachments." 4. Select the drop-down for the target directory widget and select another directory; now clicking on the left pane will work. 5. Don't save it, but cancel out. Try again. Same behavior. 6. Try again, but this time save it somewhere. Now, on subsequent tries, it works fine. 7. Close the doc. Don't quit Word. Open it again from the mail message. Works fine. 8. Quit Word. Open doc again from email. Same bad behavior.
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel When I try to SAVE or SAVE AS the dialogue box that comes up is huge. In fact both the left and right sides of the box are off the screen so I can't navigate or hit the CANCEL or SAVE buttons in the lower right hand corner. If I use Word with another profile on the computer it's fine. How can I make the dialogue box smaller? I've tried rebooting the computer. Thanks!
3.Filtering Files in Open Dialogue Box
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I am trying to transition for XP to MAC and familiarizing myself with Word for Mac. How do I do the following with Word for Mac, which I can do with Word for PC: a. Show only .doc or .docx files in the Open Dialogue box. Mac shows all files in the directory even .xls, .ppt and others. I just want to see my .doc and .docx files. b. How do I filter the Open Dialogue box to only show file names which contain a set of characters I inputed in the "File Name" box? For instance, if I type "*form*" as the File Name, the Open Dialogue box would show only files with the word "form" in them, such as "Tax Form1.doc", "Application Forms.doc" and "Golf Format.doc". The above functions in Word for PC make finding files within Word very efficient and I hope someone could point me to the right direction for Mac. Thanks a heal in advance.
4.Open dialogue box, how to resize
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) In Word, when I open the Open dialogue box, the box fills the whole screen so that I can't fully see the Cancel or Open buttons at the bottom, and can't see the resize handle bottom right at all. Clicking the green button top left does nothing. How can I resize the Open dialogue box so that it fits my screen?
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Over the last week, I've lost the ability to save new documents in subfolders. I can save them to the desktop or in one of the four folders I saved items in most recently. I have no problem choosing subfolders when I use the Command-O feature. How do I get the ability to choose subfolders back?
