  • 1. footer in header
I have created a template for a document that has to be inserted within another document. It works fine apart from the footer. The footer has two lines of text that are centred. When the document is inserted into the other document, the first line of text is as it should be but the second line has moved to the left. What can I do to stop this happening please?

for some reason, the key always looks like this: `x with the accent mark that will not go away. Present in all applications. How do I revert back to normal?

  • 4. word 2007 proofing error correction
Created a mail merge document in Word 2002. I upgraded to Word 2007 (big mistake). 2007 finds errors in the 2002 document. I correct them but it will not save punctuation and grammer errors after I fix them. I even tried saving the document in word 2002 but that does not work either. Any ideas?
  • 5. Shouldn't IF and SUM fields be updated when I choose Print Preview
I have a pretty simple document that has a couple of IF and SUM fields. I have "Update fields before Printing" enabled in the Word 2007 options. Since a few days ago, the fields don't update when I choose Print Preview... they either remain blank, or once, the field tags appeared in Print Preview. When I actually print the document to the printer, all of the fields update correctly. Anyone ever seen this where Print Preview doesn't update fields, even thought "Update field before printing" is enabled? Any idea how to fix it?

"Number of Pages" (Y) on 1st page is not consistent with rest of the pages

Postby wjair » Thu, 02 Aug 2007 23:57:02 GMT

Hi,

I have "Different first page" and added Page X of Y in the footer on
1st page and 2nd page forward.

"Number of Pages" (Y) on 1st page is not consistent with rest of the
pages, i.e. it always shown "1 of 2".

Please advise.

Thanks,
Willy Jair

3.Table of contents numbering not consistent with page numbering format

How do I get a table of contents to number pages in a preliminary section
using a different format? This document has three sections: a title page
section; a section containing the table of contents and table of
authorities; and the main section. All sections have a different first
page footer, so the first page will not have numbers. Each section starts
over from the first page. The section containing the title page and table
of contents is numbered in the i, ii, etc. format (small Roman numerals).
The main section is numbered with arabic numbers; the title page is only a
single page, so there's no number.

The table of contents, however, numbers the second section (in which it is
contained) with arabic numerals, not the small Roman numerals that appear
in the footer. How do I get the table of contents entries designating the
second section, the section containing the tables, to be numbered in the
same format the numbers appear in the footer?

4.forcing 1st page header to stay on 1st page

I have a different 1st page header. The problem is that
when I'm pasting into my document this 1st page header is
moved down to section 7 or some other obscure location far
down the document. Is there a way to keep the first page
header in the first section (I don't wish to use sections
anyway in these documents) and will this keep it on the
first page where its supposed to be?

Thanks in advance,

Glenn.

5.1st 3 pages without shown page numbers

I have an article. The first 3 pages is sort of index, and I do not want to
show the page numbers. The text started from page four.
I know that I could put my cursor at end of page 3, and insert break
session, so I could have page numbers 1,2,3,... shown on my page 4,5,6,...
However, I do not know how I could make the page numbers disiappear from the
first 3 index pages. I can only hide the number for the 1 page.
What if my index pages that I do not want to show page nubmers are 4 pages,
5 pages, n pages?
