  • 1. Using Protect Document feature in Word 2003.
I had a user ask me about how to protect her Word documents so that other users couldn't edit them so I showed her how to use Protect Document in Word 2003 which works great. My question is if you send a user a word document that uses Office XP, 2000 or 97 will this Protect Document feature still work being that the other user has a previous version of Office?
  • 2. How do I share auto text entries with other users?
I am trying to find out how I share my auto text entries with other users.
  • 3. Stop update of fields when switching to print layout
I have several fields in my document and for different reasons, I wish to be in complete control of when the fields are updated. Therefore I have unchecked the "Update Fields" in the Print Options, but nevertheless, when I switch from View Normal mode to View Print Layout, the fields get updated. I can of course simple undo the update fields action; however, I am not confident that I will remember this at all times. Does anyone have a solution for me?
  • 4. Word 2002 - "features not supported by Word 97"...
I'm definitely using 2002 - but when I save documents I get a warning that features like colours or formatting aren't supported by Word '97. How can I turn this off?

Not sure what you are asking here. You are searching for a string of letters
containing 16 or more letters -hence the 16 in the string! The string
doesn't look for two words as you have written it.

1.Why?Why?Why?Why?

Can anyone tell me as to why I have to re-install Word 2002 every week
or so? It will work fine and then for no obvious reason it will present
the message "That it is not installed for the current user and to
re-install it". I am the ONLY frickin' user of this machine.

I have de-installed and re-installed it so many times that I wonder as
to "Why did I ever purchase this piece of crap"?

This pgm came as part of Works Suite 2004.

There must be a registry hack to stabilize this pgm so that I don't have
to re-install the beast.
