  • 1. Can you use more than 9 levels in a Word table of contents? How?
    I have a client that wants to use more than 9 levels in a Table of COntents in Word. When you are in the T of C tab - towards the bottom - there is a Show Levels box with options to show from 1-9 levels. 9 is the highest number available. Is 9 levels the max that can be used in Word? or is there a way to somehow add more than the 9 levels? KZ2000

    I have a 450-paged document that I add to on a daily basis and when I tried to open it this morning it either won't open and the screen just vibrates or it opens with unrecognizable characters or codes. I tried doing a system recovery but that didn't work. Can anyone help me bring my Word document back to where it was yesterday?

Runtime error 453 specified DLL function not found when using Ave.

When I try to use the Avery forms tool and get to the point of entering my
data, I get the error message 453 "Specified DLL function not found". Is
this a file that I am missing? If so, how do I go about getting it? I have
tried reinstalling Microsoft Word many times and still get the error message.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?S0hN?=,

You need to ask Avery this question, as it concerns their dll and the files
they supply.

2.language dll vbe6intl.dll could not be found error

I have XP SP2. I installed Office Professional 2003 Hebrew and then the
Multilingual interface pack to enable menus in English. PP and Excell work
fine but Word starts with the following error:
language dll vbe6intl.dll could not be found error
After a few times I have to terminate it and then it can go up at safe mode
only.
I tried to uninstall and re-install but it does not help.

Any idea what's that and how to overcome this?

Thanks

3.Specified Cast is not valid error with find and restrict methods

I have been working with Outlook COM Add-ins and have run into issues with
using the Find and Restrict method with a couple of different projects. When
I run the same project from an applicatoin outside of Outlook or from a COM
Add-in, but on a computer not on exchange server, there seems to be no
problem at all. But when I run the same code from within a COM Add-in on a
computer connected into an Exchange Server, I randomly get the "specified cas
is not valid error" when using certain Restrict and Find methods - i.e. the
code will work fine and then suddenly it will hang up and there seems to be
no rhyme or reason related to the contact records the code sticks on. Here
is a snippet of the code that I have most recently seen this error with (the
last line with the * is the line where the error occurs:

        Dim MasterItems As Outlook.Items
        Dim ListItems As Outlook.Items
        Dim ListToCheck As String
        Dim myList As Outlook.ContactItem
        Dim Criteria As String
        Dim RestrictItems As Outlook.Items
        Dim ProgressMeter As New fclsProgressMeter

        'Added 5/23/05 to limit search items to the proper message class
        Dim ConItems As Outlook.Items
        Dim ConRestrict As String

Try
            'restrict ListItems to contact items and use find method to find
the list requested
            'CompanyName field is used to hold the List name and CurList is
passed in sub argument
            MasterItems = MasterFolder.Items
            ListItems = MasterItems.Restrict("[MessageClass] =
'IPM.Contact.List Form'")
            ListToCheck = "[CompanyName] = " & CurList
            myList = CType(ListItems.Find(ListToCheck), Outlook.ContactItem)

            'Collect criteria from myList form
            Criteria = "[" & CType(myList.UserProperties("Criteria").Value,
String) & "] = True"

            'Use restrict method to create list
            'Added code on 5/23/05 to restrict search to NAESB Contact items
            ConItems = MasterItems.Restrict("[MessageClass] =
'IPM.Contact.NAESB Contact Form'")
            *RestrictItems = ConItems.Restrict(Criteria)

The problem seems to crop up only when RestrictItems.count is larger i.e.
more than 100 records - I don't seem to get it for the smaller numbers of
records. Is this problem typical of COM Add-ins or is there some code
missing here that could make this code run consistently?

4.Pivot Table Error - Specified Module Could Not be Found

Hello,

I don't know if this is the correct section to post my question (please
redirect me if I should be posting elsewhere). I've got an interesting
situation with Office Web Components (Office XP) in Visual Studio 2003 (using
VB.Net). I've been using OWC with no issues for about 2 years. All of a
sudden, the pivot table component decided to stop working, and when I try to
drag it on a form the error message is "The specified module could not be
found." I can build and run the solution, but the forms with pivot tables
generate a "file not foundException" I thought maybe my references got fouled
up (as sometimes happens with VS), but the chart and spreadsheet components
work fine (and they use the same DLL as the pivot table component,
AXOWC.dll). I've tried reregistering and recompiling the web components with
no luck.

My coworkers references are identical to mine, and the pivot table works
perfectly for him. I'm at a loss. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
