  • 1. Setting default view for the Open File dialog in Word 2007?
When I try to open a document from within Word 2007, I want the dialog box to default to the DETAILS view of my folders -- but half the time it opens up with another view (small icons, list, etc). I have my folders in Vista (ultimate) set up to appear in the DETAILS view by default, but that default setting does not seem to apply to the Open Dialog in Word -- and I can't find a way to define that default from within Word. Does someone know how to set the default file view in the Open dialog box in Word 2007? Thanks! Mark

  • 4. Style Numbering Query
I working on a document in Word 2002 that includes many numbered lists for which Ie set up a style. The numbers go up to two characters and I want to format them so that they line up at the second character. That is: 8. Text 9. Text 10. Text 11. Text I thought I be able to set a right aligned tab into the style, which is what I do if I was manually numbering the list, but I can work out how its done. The settings in the ustomize Numbered Listbox are as follows: Number Position: Right Aligned at: 0.51cm Text Position Tab Space after 0.63cm : Indent at 0.63cm but the numbers are still lining up on the left. Ie checked the Help files and searched this forum but I can find out what I doing wrong and would really appreciate some help.
  • 5. Word 2003 - linked document (Includetext) with PCL5e code - Ignori
I have a primary Word document with Includetext to link several secondary Word documents into my primary document. One of my secondary documents is setup to print Duplex. Using the Print option in the secondary document I define the PCL5E code for duplexing. {Print 27 "&l1S"} If I print the secondary document using PCL code by itself it prints correctly in duplex mode (Word 2003). If I add the PCL code to the primary document using Word 2003 the entire document duplexes. If I print the primary document from Word 2000 with PCL code embedded in the secondary document it prints correctly in duplex mode. However, when running the primary document from Word2003, the secondary document no longer duplexes even thou it contains the PCL code. It appears that Word 2003 is treating linked documents (Includetext) differently, thereby the PCL code in the secondary document is either being ignored or converted to something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Documents takes ages to load?

Postby Anders Biro » Tue, 27 Sep 2005 03:21:13 GMT

Hello, I have come across the problem that certain documents takes up to a
minute to load (or effectively the word application hangs for a long time
before showing the documents)
This does only happen with certain documents and I have tried installations
of both Office 2003 Professional and Small Business Edition with the same
result.
At some computers they still work like a dream so they cannot be corrupted
but takes a long time to load at most Office installations? What could
possibly be wrong? Is it a configuration issue?

you could also remove the printer. when you open the file, it will shape
itself to the printer settings
if the printer cannot be found it will keep trying for a while.
