My son started his homework at school on a Mac machine, then brought the file home on a flash drive. But I have a HPackard with microsoft word 2007 loaded so we can't open the Mac file. Is there a way to open the Mac file in order for him to complete his homework? Yes, it's late and it's due tomorrow!!! But surely there are parents out there who can relate to this type of late night dilemna. . .
  • 2. Third Party / Additional Citation Styles
I am wondering if anyone has found a library (no matter the size) of third party or microsoft written additional citation styles for Word 2007. It is a big internet and there are some really talented folks out there. Are the 10 bundled with Word the only complete styles out there so far? I have been looking into this off and on for the last few days and would really like to not become an expert in XML just to change to a more Engineering friendly reference style. I am currently deciding what program to begin writting my thesis in. I am comfortable with much of Word and would like to continue using it. I appreciate Microsoft's dedication to enhancing the features of it's products; however, with no way to update the styles (short of full XML programming) it is frustrating to see the potential flexibilty and ease of use, without being able to sieze it. As a suggestion, I would like to add my name to the list of folks requesting a GUI interface for the addition of citation styles. Hopefully, T

  • 5. Word-form
I've made a relatively simple form in Word. The first section is protected, because I want people to only fill in the designated 'blanks'. But in the 2nd section should contain a report, so this area are left unprotected. So far, so good. However: There's also a list, that can be as long as need be. So, tabbing should add news rows. But this means, the list has to be UNprotected. The heading of the list, though, should be in a PROTECTED section. I want the heading to be protected, because I don't want people to be able to edit it. But: If I put ONLY the heading in a protected section, this means I can't keep the heading and the first line in the list together. And I definitely want that. But to be able to do that, heading and the rest of the list should be in the same section. I tried making a text box, but this wasn't ideal either. What happened was that if I deleted the first line of the list, it made the text box go as well! (which was strange, because I didn't select it). Any bright ideas? JeLa

In Microsoft Word 2003, I have a created document. There are blanks that need
to be completed. I would like to be able to tab from one space to the next
without disturbing the format of the document. Whe pushed, the tab button
should only move from on blank space to the other.

What you are describing is a protected form. See
