Have a user that when they print or make a change to a document the font all piles on top of eachother on the left side of the document. Is this a print driver issue or word issue ? Or something else.

It's a printer driver issue. The cause is not entirely known, but changing the printer to another and then back again seems to clear it, at least temporarily. -- Suzanne S. I'm having the same issue, but only with labels. But my users have seen this problem on different PC's, and with different printers selected. Andy Siegel Dover, DE
Part of the problem in addressing a firm fix for this 'squished' or 'squashed' text issue [Not that MS hasn't tried to put out some generic 'try this to fix print problems in Word' articles :) http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;826845&FR=1 http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;826862&FR=1 ] has been that folks who report seeing it, rarely come back with any additional information on what worked when it went away :) It's apparently a glitch that involves Word temp files that causes Word 2003 to lose track of the printer it's supposed to be using (as listed in File=>Print) and seems to be related to add-ins and temp files of Word. Going to File=>Print and changing the printer to another one (and back) will often clear it temporarily, *BUT* before doing that or switching the font **please** let us know what happens if, when you see the problem on the screen you 1. Close Word. 2. Cleanup and delete all left over Word temp files using Start=>Search and the search string of ~$*.*;*.tmp 3. Restart Word and open the same document you were working on. ======== Have a user that when they print or make a change to a document the font all piles on top of eachother on the left side of the document. Bob, Once I see the problem again we will try the following 1. Close Word. 2. Cleanup and delete all left over Word temp files using Start=>Search and the search string of ~$*.*;*.tmp 3. Restart Word and open the same document you were working on. If that works do we do this every time we have this issue ? or will this permatly fix the issue. Thanks
1.Word 2003 squashing text to left margin
We have two customers who report that , occassionally, Word 2003 will squash lines of text in a document up against the left margin. The effect is that all the letters appear to be typed over the top of each other. This not only displays on the screen but also prints this way. Opening and closing the document a few times will cause the text to display properly across the page. Both sites are running Windows XP Pro SP2. Does anyone have any advice on this please? Regards, Martin
2.How do I insert a symbol to left of left margin so text lines

4.Word 2002 Text appears with unreadable symbols, compress to left margin
We have really a lot of problem with word 2002 ! installed products: win-2000 prof. with all service-packs und security- patches, german. office xp prof. enterprise german with all security-patches und service-packs. printers: all hp laserjet 1100/1200 and 4050/4500c with pcl6/pcl5 printer- drivers. Video-Cards are Matrox G200 with the newest drivers W2K from Matrox installed. sometimes there are really bad problems ?? when we open an existing document in word, all existing text is completely unreadable, compressed to the left margin, in symbols. when we print the document, we receive the same bullsh...! to resolve the problem, we can mark entire text, change the font to a lager size (our documents are created with arial font) and then rechange to the original font size. so the document appears with the originated text an can be printed without problem. its really bad. does somebody knows a solution for this problem ? is there a possibility to create a log for better troubleshooting ? There are no error-reports in event-log ? Thank your for your help christophe pantillon mcse, pandanet.ch gmbh, CH-5001 Aarau XXXX@XXXXX.COM
We are using Word 2003 When using third-party software to convert a .doc file into a .tiff file, as soon as the .tiff printer is selected all the text is stacked at the left margin. We did not have this problem when we were using Word 2000. According to web searches this happens with other third-party software, not just the one we are using. Tech support from the third-party software we are using indicated it is a glitch in Word 2003 (problem does not occur with Word 2000) and that it is a bug that Microsoft knows about. Will this be fixed any time soon? Is there any work-around other than closing Word and logging off? It would be great if Microsoft could incorporate a .tiff converter into Word, then the third-party software would not be required.
