Hi, I am using Word 2000 (on a PC) to write a fairly large document (over 400 pages). Every 20-30 seconds or so, the screen freezes, or stalls, and then the cursor comes back to life again. Curiously, the problem began only after I installed the latest update from the microsoft website, although I cannot be absolutely sure about it. My operating system is Windows XP. One additional piece of information: I noticed that every time I work on this particular Word document, the CPU hovers around 97-98%. any suggestions? thanks

I upgraded to '07, and would finally like to get around to changing the normal document template -- "normal.dotm". For the life of me, I can't find it! I remember things like this being in the \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates folder, but I can't find it there. I search my entire disc, but don't find it that way either. I have a 'typical' Office 07 installation; I don't believe I've moved anythign like this around. Can anyone point me towards it? Thanks in advance.

After opening an email in word the view changed to full screen, word "crashed" and now there is no way out of full screen view. There is no full screen menu available when I hover over the top bar and I cannot get out of full screen view. I can close word and re-open in full screen but that is all - no other menu options work. Any ideas?
4.word screen freezes upon opening
Office Professional 2000. Everything works except Word. The loading screen where it shows my name and business freezes. I typed the winword.exe /a in the run box and it will come on then. Also changed the name of my normal.dot file. Changed the name of the registry and still not working. I take college classes and have to have my papers in word so this is important for me to get fixed. I even unloaded it from my PC and reinstalled it from the disk. Still didn't work. Thanks, Teresa
