I've just installed Office 2007 and am taking a class using Word in the first assignment. Right after I insert a WordArt object, it won't let me change Text Wrapping or any other options in the "Arrange" group (the only thing not grayed out is "Edit Wrap Points"). It just shows a blank outline although I can see the object in Print Preview. In my assignment, I need to move the WordArt object, but it's just there and won't let me do anything to it positionally. I'm still getting used to all the help screens and set-up, but so far I can't find anything to change to fix this. By the way, I can insert a picture and that seems to have full functionality. Any suggestions?

I have lots of screen shots to paste into a word document. I need to reduce file size - what 'paste special' should I use?
  • 4. importing from Adobe Illustrator
I have created a logo and letterhead design in Adobe Illustrator. The client now wants to be able to use Word in order to use a "virtual letterhead" that someone can both read on a computer and print out. I have many questions: I want this to remain vector-based art. But when I import a .eps, the image seems pixelated. There is a white pixel border around the whole logo, so I can't add a color background to the Word file. I can copy from Illustrator and paste into the Word doc which seems to solve part of the solution for me, but since my client is unable to open an .esp doc. (they don't have Illustrator), this isn't a viable solution for them to have the flexibility to use the file in MS publisher, Power Point, etc.) The other options I have make them into pixel-based art. A .jpeg seems that the background prints white as oppossed to transparent. And a .gif makes a transparent background, but it's too pixelated. Why can't this be an easy thing? I want the images to look at crisp in my display as do the MS word clip-art files. Is there something I should be doing?

The grid is for display purposes only and cannot be printed. In order to
print gridlines, you need to create them using the Line tool from the Drawing
toolbar or add a table with borders.

4.Snap to grid drawing tool in Word

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Hi

I'm a new mac user and can't find the snap to grid (or unsnap to grid) drawing tool in Word. I've designed a poster and need to move the text boxes by a fraction, but I can't move them to exactly where I want because they keep snapping to grid, or what seems like snapping.

On a PC it's so easy - just a setting in the drawing toolbox.... but its not one of the displayed options in the mac Drawing Toolbox.

HELP!

Thanks,
Swann
