I did a screen print and copied it into Word. Now I need to add arrows pointing to parts of the screen image with explanatory notes for each arrow. How do I do that?

G'day "david" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >, You can use the Draw toolbar to insert callouts or arrow lines. However, as Word can have problems getting these to display consistently, for documents with many of these callouts, I prefer to label the various sections of the screen shot using A B C or 1 2 3 and refer to these in the adjacent documentation. 1.Add numbered arrows to image which will automatically renumber
I am putting a large number of screen shots into a Word document (2003) and would like to explain the features shown in each by using a numbered sequence of arrows pointing to the individual features. Using text boxes, I can put a letter or number on each arrow and using hyperlinks on the content of each text box I can enable 'jump to explanation text' in the main document. Nice. It would be even nicer if I could arrange for the numbers on the arrows to re-number automatically if I subsequently delete from or add to the sequence, as I anticipate that the screen shots may need to be changed frequently. Any ideas please?
2.adding captions to a graphic/image - starting number
I'm working with drawings and inserting graphics, I've tried inserting caption so that they're numbered. it works fine, but my question is, is it possible to indicate the starting number for the captions in one document, so that it follows the ones on a previous document, such as another chapter? Something like what you can do when giving pages number or inserting a reference. I hope there's something like that, although it may have to do with editing a field, and I have no idea how that is done. I'm working with Word2002, by the way. Thank you
Recently I needed to do this with 1.2. I extended the canvas downwards, but it was transparent, and I couldn't type into it, or make it opaque. Finally I saved the caption as an image, and pasted both picture and caption onto a fresh blank image window. That sounds to me more like a workaround than a correct procedure. I have now upgraded to Mandrake 10.1 with Gimp 2.0. What is the correct procedure? Doug. -- ICQ Number 178748389. Registered Linux User No. 277548. Using PSP8 Each time that I attempt to add an arrow to on image I get to the selection of the type from the line style box and a pop up ask for text. So far I take the prepared image into Fireworks and complete my arrow there. I am confused. Can PSP add an arrow? Robin Chapple.
5.Adding a caption corrupts all of the previous captions
I am trying to write a long document with many charts and captions. Yesterday I inserted 8 charts with captions, and saved my doc. Today I added a new chart, and a new caption. The caption should say "Fig 3-9" (chapter 3, number 9; this is automated). What it says is "Fig Error! Style not defined. -9" It also changes ALL of the figure captions in my ENTIRE document to say the same. Any suggestions?
6. Image caption on right of image
