  • 1. Centering text top to bottom in graphic object
How do I center text top to bottom within a graphic object? I'm able to center left to right using the parag/center feature, and can shrink the object so that object fits the text. But I want to keep the object at a specific size and make the text centered within it top to bottom like you do in most graphic programs. Thanks, XXXX@XXXXX.COM
  • 2. Inserting Pictures and wrapping within a Text Box
Hi there, I want to set up a page with various text boxes on it, and inside some of those text boxes I want a picture with text wrapping around it. When I insert a graphic in line with some text in one of the text boxes, then right-click it and choose Format Picture, the wrapping (layout) options are greyed out. Help?
  • 3. drawn line diappears
I do not understand when I draw a line or other (arrows, call out, etc), it does not hold (I end up with two little squares. This happens on one docuement only. I tried saying it with another name. Same result. However, do not have a problem with a new docuement. • 4. Cannot Edit Clipart
I have a basic question about the clipart in Microsoft Word 2002, (well, in all Office products actually). I used to be able to insert clipart images after searching for them in the online collection, and then right click on these images and select "Edit Picture". This would smooth the image out quite nicely and allow me to do things like change colours or delete parts of the image that I didn't want. My question is, this was working find for me until recently. Clicking on "Edit Picture" does not seem to do anything now. I cannot think of any applications of settings changes I have made recently that would have caused this. If anyone know what the problem is, I would appreciate their help. Thank you.

I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem. I have one user if he inserts a Chart (Insert>Picture>Chart) the box where the chart is supposed to be can be seen, but you can not see the chart. If you do a print prefview or edit you can see it. Anyone have any ideas?

Lining a drawn Line up with text

If I make a form and after an entry there is a line above which someone would
print (ie. NAME ______) what is the best tool to use so that the line is even
with the bottom of the preceeding text. I've tried to use the Draw Line Tool
and have not been able to nudge it in sufficiently small incraments. Idealy
there would be some tool like the line used for aligning text with the
margin. Even though it would work using a series of underscores after the
text seems sloppy. Thanks in advance.

Hi Alan,

If you reduce the drawing grid size to the smallest amount possible (0.1mm), you should be able to position the line pretty much
where you want it. You alter the grid via the Drawing toolbar.

Alternatively, if you insert a space, followed by a single right-aligned tab after 'NAME' and position the tab where you want the
field to end, you can underline the space and the tab character. Then, when your user types in the name (after the space), it will
be underlined.

Cheers

Thanks for your reply macropod. I reduced the grid size to the smallest
amount and it didn't seem to have an effect.

1.how to text-wrap drawing objects in line with text

For several projects I need to embed graphics (drawing objects, usually) into
the text. The images can't be substituted with Wingdings or anything like
that.

I can make the drawing objects easily enough, but the trouble comes when
formatting them. When doing the layout settings, Office 2000 won't let me
choose "In line with text" as a text-wrap option.
