After insert a picture, have no right to modify it again

I am creating a lengthy document containing a number of checklists.

My preferred format for the checklists is...
1. Contact so-and-so . . . . . . . . . [ ] (checkbox)
2. Respond to such-and-such . . . [ ]
3. Shutdown the this-and-that:
.....a. insert tab A in slot b . . . . . [ ]
.....b. force square peg into . . . . [ ]
.........round hole
.....c. turn the whirlygig count-. . .[ ]
.........clockwise 3 turns
4. Contact the command center . .[ ]
....via the radio and advise the
....this-and-that has been secured

What I'd like is a style template that will automatically insert these 
checkboxes (flush right, aligned) in conjunction with the first line of each 
step (note that some of the steps span across multiple lines, but the 
checkboxes are with the first line).

My first go at this used a two-column table, which in the end (visually) 
does the trick. However, it is a pain in the kiester to set up / edit. A 
Style that auto-inserted these would be much more convenient, and breaking 
away from tables could conceiveably save me some grief.

Your suggestions are welcome.

3.Inserting pictures in the right place (and size)

Hello.

I am building a wizard that gathers information from a user including a
picture and several pieces of text for multiple items.  After imputting the
pictures and descriptive information for each unit, the wizard builds the
document.  Each page should have 1 picture and the descriptive text under
it.  The problem is this: When I loop through and place my pictures, they
all end up on the first page and the descriptive data follows the page
breaks as normal.

How can I make sure that the picture is always placed at the top center of
the CURRENT page?  I am using activedocument.typetext and
activedocument.inlineshapes.insertpicture methods to build the document.

4.Having trouble pasting a picture from Office Picture Mgr to Excel

How do I paste a cropped photo from Office Picture Mgr into Excel.  It copies 
just fine, but won't paste.  Paste is not an option and neither is my 
clipboard usable.

5.Open and Modify Word document without having Word

Hi,

My application knows how to open a word document and modifying it (actullay 
all i do, is replacing text) and then print this document.
This works fine when having microsoft office, and I'm looking for a way to 
open,modify and print this document automatically when the computer that runs 
my application doesn't have microsoft office.

Is there a way to do it?
